Contrary to popular belief, treadmill workouts don’t have to be bland and boring. In fact, some machines are specifically designed to make cardio training engaging with scenic routes, science-backed games, and leaderboards that add an extra layer of motivation.
If this sounds like a more exciting way to break a sweat, there are several excellent treadmills that offer this type of dynamic programming. Our team recently got our hands (and feet, of course) on a model that made such a strong impression with its specs and performance that it earned one of the highest overall scores of any treadmill we’ve tested.
In this Aviron Justice Treadmill review, I’ll give you the full rundown on all of its features and provide direct feedback from our expert product tester, a certified personal trainer, so you can decide if this is the right upgrade for your home gym. While I’ll let you be the judge of that, let’s just say I’m confident justice will be served with this review.
Our Aviron Justice Treadmill Review, Summarized
Earning a strong overall score of 4.5 out of 5, the Aviron Justice Treadmill offers a 12.5 MPH top speed, incline training up to 15%, and a comfortable CloudStride deck made with eight shock absorbers. It has all the conveniences you expect at its price point of $2,599, including dual cup holders, heart rate sensors, front-facing speakers, and a wireless charging pad. Meanwhile, an Aviron membership opens the door to guided workouts, scenic destinations, and a gamified experience that can reshape your idea of cardio training.
How We Tested
We favor folding treadmills like the Aviron Justice because of their space-saving capabilities. To earn a 3 in the footprint and portability category, one or two people can easily move the treadmill around using features like built-in transport wheels. Larger, heavier machines that are difficult to move lose points. Meanwhile, foldable, portable models typically earn a 4 or 5.

To earn a 3 in this category, a treadmill must offer an incline range of at least 10% and a max speed of at least 10 miles per hour. Machines that offer speedier or steeper settings (the Aviron Justice checks both of those boxes) receive higher marks. Although it’s less common, treadmills with decline capabilities give you even more training flexibility.

We look at whether the treadmill has built-in programs that provide enough training variety. Models that are compatible with platforms like iFIT offer a pathway for structured workouts and instructor-led classes. Treadmills score a 3 for dynamic programming if they have at least a few built-in workouts, with higher scores going to models that have more robust training options.

Our team has developed a comprehensive treadmill testing methodology that uses a 1-5 scoring scale to rate categories such as customizations, ergonomics, dynamic programming, and more. Our testers put each machine through a series of treadmill walking workouts, HIIT treadmill workouts, and more, to evaluate how it performs at various speeds and intensities.

The Garage Gym Reviews team includes certified personal trainers, marathoners, and recreational runners who understand how each design element can impact your experience. After testing more than 50 treadmills from a variety of manufacturers, we’re confident we can help you find the right machine so you can take your cardio game to the next level.

The Aviron Justice Treadmill packs interactive programming, a 15% incline, and a folding design into a machine that can work well in multipurpose home gyms. We like its versatility for walking and running, though taller runners may prefer a longer deck and you’ll need a membership to get the most out of its programming.
Before You Buy
- Although it has an MSRP of $2,599, you should be able to find this treadmill on sale for about $2,000. That puts it right on par with the average treadmill we test.
- An Aviron Family membership costs $29 per month when billed annually (or $34 per month when billed monthly) and allows you to set up unlimited user profiles. While a membership is not required, we feel it’s a worthwhile investment to unlock the Justice’s full potential.
- If the 16-inch touchscreen and 5-watt speakers aren’t sufficient, you can upgrade to the 22-inch Pro screen, which has 10-watt speakers. This typically costs $400, but you may be able to save a bit during promotional periods.
- Aviron also offers a Premium Package bundle that includes a weighted vest, treadmill mat, and the Aviron WalkDesk attachment that converts your fully connected treadmill into a walking pad alternative. Listed for $416, we’ve seen this bundle-and-save option on sale for as low as $299.

Is the Aviron Justice Treadmill Worth It?
If you’re looking for a treadmill with all the modern bells and whistles, the Aviron Justice fits the bill. From its powerful 3.5 continuous horsepower (CHP) motor to its smooth pre-waxed belt to its convenient SafeLift folding system, it has all the design elements we look for in a top-rated machine.
Plus, we love that it’s made for streaming apps like Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Hulu, and HBO Max. If you don’t want to watch your go-to show, you can stream your favorite running playlist on Spotify or Apple Music.
What truly makes the Justice worth it is using it with the Aviron World platform. This allows you to choose from thousands of workouts, including classes, scenic destinations, and science-backed games. So, if you prioritize connectivity and versatility, this machine offers excellent bang for your buck.

Experience Using the Aviron Justice Treadmill
GGR expert product tester Pete Nastasi, CPT, CNC, put the Justice treadmill through our comprehensive evaluation process and came away highly impressed. The former collegiate swimmer and current CrossFit/Hyrox athlete has several 5K and 10K events under his proverbial belt, and he’s tested a variety of treadmills over the past five years.
With all that experience, he had high expectations—and the Justice delivered.
“It’s well-built and sturdy, even when sprinting,” Pete explains. “Both the touchscreen and physical control panel are intuitive and easy to use, there’s a decent amount of cushion when running, and the treadmill is long enough that I never felt like I was going to fall off or had to shorten my strides.”
Earning a firm stamp of approval from a seasoned athlete, let’s dive deeper into what made the Justice stand out during testing.
Owning a treadmill requires a significant upfront investment, but if you’re a frequent runner or walker, you’ll be glad to save yourself the daily commute to the gym. Plus, when it’s cold, dark, rainy, or too hot outside, you have a safe and enjoyable place to exercise.

Aviron Justice Treadmill Rating

Footprint and Portability
Measuring 80 inches long, 34 inches wide, and 66 inches tall, the Aviron Justice has a total footprint of approximately 18.9 square feet. For comparison, the NordicTrack Commercial 1750—our top overall treadmill—comes in at 21.1 square feet. So, this model is definitely more space-efficient even though it’s still fairly sizable.

However, the reason we awarded a near-perfect score for footprint and portability comes down to a key design feature. Aviron’s SafeLift pneumatic-assisted folding mechanism allows you to significantly reduce its footprint from 80 inches long to just 53.
“I was able to lift the base of the treadmill with one hand and easily lock it into its upright position,” Pete says. “Lowering the treadmill back to the ground was also extremely easy. You can just use your foot to tap the yellow locking mechanism to release the treadmill, and then it slowly lowers on its own.”
Despite weighing 251 pounds, the Aviron Justice is actually surprisingly easy to move thanks to its built-in transport wheels.

“It was extremely easy to move on a tile floor,” Pete says. “I also pulled it through a thick turf to closely mimic thick carpet, and even though it was a bit harder because the wheels aren’t very large, I don’t think anyone would have issues moving this treadmill around in any room of their house.”
Delivery and Setup
Treadmills don’t require as much elbow grease to put together as more complicated machines like a full-sized functional trainer or cable machine. That remains true with the Justice, which arrives 80% assembled. According to Aviron, it should take about 60 minutes to finish putting the machine together.
While Pete wasn’t part of the delivery and setup process, based on our experience with the similarly built Aviron Victory Treadmill, we’re confident you shouldn’t run into any issues.
However, if you’re concerned about putting the machine together, Aviron offers professional delivery and assembly. This service typically costs about $299, but we don’t think it’s necessary for most folks. At the very least, it’s nice to have that option for a completely hands-off experience.

Durability
Our durability score encompasses two factors: the motor and weight capacity. While we appreciate the quiet 3.5 CHP brushless motor, we docked some points here due to the lower-than-average weight capacity of 300 pounds.
First, the good.
The motor provides sufficient power for runners who want to perform sprint workouts or high-intensity interval training (HIIT). While we still need to conduct our own decibel reading tests, Aviron claims the noise level hovers around 40 dB at walking speeds and 70 dB at its top speed. Pete says the treadmill was “very quiet” during his workout, which is great if you don’t want to disrupt the rest of your household as you break a sweat.
In addition, the Justice remains stable during use—another key factor that affects your workout experience.
“There wasn’t any shaking, wobbling, or abnormal noises during my workout, even when I was running at top speed,” Pete says. “I felt totally safe on this machine.”

Unfortunately, one of the few knocks against the Justice is its below-average weight capacity. After testing more than 50 treadmills, we’ve found the average weight capacity to be about 320 pounds. The Justice falls short by 20 pounds, making it ill-suited for heavier individuals.
Luckily, there are more inclusive models that provide sufficient support. So, if you fall above the 300-pound mark, you’ll need to look elsewhere.

Customizations
To meet our benchmark for a 3 out of 5, a treadmill must offer a max speed of at least 10 miles per hour and an incline range of at least a 10%. The Justice easily surpasses both of those figures at 12.5 miles per hour and 15%, respectively. The only reason we docked half a point is because it doesn’t offer decline training like the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 or Sole F89.
That being said, a 15% incline gives you plenty of wriggle room to ramp up the intensity for incline treadmill workouts. If you haven’t tried this before, you’re missing out on some serious calorie-burning power. According to a 2021 study1, walking at a 10% incline increased total energy expenditure by 23%. So, if you’re on a fat-loss mission, the Justice can support your efforts with its incline capabilities.
During testing, it took about 30 seconds for the treadmill to go from its lowest incline point to its highest.

“It was very smooth during the transition with no jerky movements or small stops,” Pete says. “During the automated workouts, the treadmill starts adjusting quickly, but it feels slow while moving.”
Although we’ve tested faster treadmills, this model is still well-suited for runners with its top speed of 12.5 miles per hour. We appreciate that you can change the incline or speed settings via the physical control panel or the touchscreen display.
“It uses icons instead of words to let you know what each of the buttons do, but it’s intuitive and easy to use,” Pete explains.
Adjustability and Ergonomics
Comfort plays a huge role in whether you use your treadmill regularly or let it become an expensive albatross sitting in your home. Thankfully, the Aviron Justice rated highly in the all-important adjustability and ergonomics category, coming up just shy of a perfect score.
The CloudStride running deck has eight shock absorbers that can help ease some of the burden on your joints. This is especially useful if you have bad knees, as the repetitive pounding on an unforgiving treadmill belt can quickly turn troublesome.
“The cushion was definitely noticeable, especially when I was running at my top speed,” Pete says. “It just felt really good.”

RELATED: Best Cushioned Treadmills
When we evaluate this category, we also take note of how accessible the controls are. After all, you want to be able to make seamless adjustments without disrupting your workout. Again, Aviron did well by placing all the controls and conveniences within reach.
“There are three customizable speed shortcut keys that are set at 2.0 mph, 4.0 mph, and 6.0 mph, but you can adjust these to your personal preferences in the settings,” Pete explains. “The buttons and handles are easily accessible at all points of the incline. The main control panel is in the center of the treadmill around hip height, which is convenient.”

The only reason we docked half a point for ergonomics is that the running belt is slightly shorter (59 inches) than what we typically see (60 inches).
Tech Capabilities
The Aviron Justice is a tech-centric machine that has everything you need for a streamlined experience. Here’s an overview of its top tech features:
- Pivoting 16” HD touchscreen (upgradable to 22”)
- Front-facing speakers and camera
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity
- Magnetic wireless charging pad

Pete says the screen was easy to navigate, and the print was large enough to read, even on the base model. However, if you have vision issues, you can always upgrade to the 22-inch screen ($400) for better viewing.
Of course, the screen serves as the hub for your entertainment apps like YouTube, Hulu, and Netflix, as well as the Aviron World platform that I’ll dive into shortly. But rest assured, the Justice has all the tech bells and whistles you could ask for.
Conveniences
Once again, the Justice earned a perfect score by simply doing all the little things right. While some treadmills are more bare-bones than others, this one has the modern conveniences that make your experience that much more enjoyable.

Here’s what the Justice includes:
- 3-speed cooling fan
- Built-in heart rate sensors
- Dual oversized cupholders
- Storage tray
“The fan hits you in a good area,” Pete explains. “I’m about 6’2” and it was hitting me primarily in my chest area, which was much appreciated.”
Meanwhile, the wireless charging station is the epitome of convenience. Simply place your phone down on the pad and it starts charging. This means you don’t have to bring a cable with you or worry about a cord getting tangled around the treadmill.
Dynamic Programming
Now this is where the Justice truly shines.
The Aviron World platform presents an exciting array of training possibilities that can actually make you excited about hopping on your treadmill.

Sure, you could stream YouTube, Hulu, Disney+, or Netflix while you run. However, probing into the “games” category gives you nine options to choose from. Meanwhile, the LES MILLS™ section includes:
- Pilates
- Functional Strength
- BodyPump
- Dance
- Core Workouts
- Cardio
- Strength
- Stretch
There’s also a coached classes section that has options ranging from 5K race prep to HIIT running to hill climbs. Furthermore, you can partake in virtual workouts where you can view scenic areas from all over the world, and there are other fun options like Pros vs. Joes where you can race against professional athletes.

“There are so many options to choose from and you can definitely find something you’d like on here,” Pete says. “One thing to note is that the screen doesn’t swivel like on the Peloton, so if you are doing off treadmill workouts you’ll have to do it behind the treadmill.”
What can you expect from the workouts themselves? Pete tried one of the LES MILLS™ classes and found the 40-minute session to be highly effective on multiple levels.
“The instructor was engaging, the exercises were well-explained, and they take you through a full warmup, workout, and cool-down, which was great to see,” he says. “There was also music that played during the workout, but it was still easy to hear the instructor.”

While Pete didn’t have any issues with the audio, if you find that you can’t hear the instructor over the music (or the other way around), you’ll be glad to know you can change the volume for each independently.

Value
Even at its MSRP of $2,599, the Aviron Justice is a worthwhile investment given all of its features. If you can find it on sale for around the $2,000 mark, that makes it particularly appealing.
“This price point, even without the discount, is a bit cheaper than a direct competitor like the Peloton Tread, which costs $3,295,” Pete explains. “The Aviron Justice also matches the Peloton Tread on top speed at 12.5 mph, it has a more powerful motor at 3.5 CHP compared to 3.0 CHP, and it also beats the base-model Peloton Tread with an incline that goes up to 15%, compared to 12.5% for Peloton.”
When you factor in the fantastic warranty (more on that next), we give the Justice a near-perfect 4.5 out of 5 for value.
Customer Experience
Some brands simply do a better job than others of providing customer-oriented policies. Aviron fits the bill by offering an unparalleled 20-year warranty on the Justice Treadmill. This covers the touchscreen, motors, deck, belt, control pad, and frame.
That’s far longer than what we’re used to seeing, as many manufacturers offer. Two decades of coverage should give you all the peace of mind you need about making this purchase.
As if that wasn’t enough, we also appreciate Aviron’s generous return policy. You get a 30-day risk-free trial to assess whether this machine is the right fit. If you decide to return it, you can get a full refund. Aviron will send you a return label for shipping, and you are not responsible for restocking or return shipping fees.
It would be an injustice to give anything but a perfect score here.
Customer Reviews
The Aviron Justice Treadmill has earned an average rating of 4.7 stars based on 6,790 reviews on the brand’s website. However, they group all reviews together, and I was not able to locate any for the Justice, specifically, at the time of writing.
Aviron Justice Treadmill Vs
The Justice is certainly an appealing option, but you could look outside the Aviron family for a treadmill that offers similar specs.
Pete aptly brought up the Peloton Cross Training Tread as an obvious comparison. It also puts connectivity at the forefront—albeit at a much higher price point. While you get a much larger touchscreen, you do make sacrifices in warranty coverage (just five years from Peloton) and incline range (12.5% compared to 15% for the Justice).
Another option worth considering that I’ve touched upon a few times is the NordicTrack Commercial 1750. It actually has a fairly similar spec sheet, but with one major difference: it offers decline training. You should be able to find it on sale for about the same price as the Justice, and the iFIT programming is top-notch.
Check out our full NordicTrack Commercial 1750 review for a thorough breakdown of one of our favorite cardio machines.

Final Verdict of Our Aviron Justice Treadmill Review
The Aviron Justice Treadmill packs a powerful punch of performance features that can actually make you excited to do cardio at home. Between its sturdy, stable design, top-notch tech capabilities, and terrific programming (with a paid Aviron membership, of course), you should feel encouraged to explore all of your training possibilities. We firmly believe it’s an investment you won’t regret making—and the company’s generous return policy should provide peace of mind about your purchase, too.
- Although it’s optional, the Aviron membership is fairly affordable ($29 per month when billed annually) and a worthwhile investment if you’re willing to spend $2K+ on the machine itself.
- If you have vision issues, upgrading to the 22-inch touchscreen will make your viewing experience much easier.
- Having the ability to transform this treadmill into a walking desk is a major perk that should appeal to those who work from home.
Aviron Justice Treadmill Review: FAQs
What are the pros and cons of the Aviron Justice Treadmill?
Standout features include its 16-inch touchscreen display, robust incline and speed settings, well-cushioned running deck, and foldable design. While we don’t have many major callouts, we do wish the Justice had a more inclusive weight capacity to support heavier individuals.
Is a foldable treadmillworth it?
Yes, a foldable treadmill is a great investment if you have limited space. This allows you to significantly reduce the machine’s footprint when not in use, with some models capable of being stored under a couch or bed.
How fast does the Aviron Justice Treadmill go?
The Aviron Justice Treadmill has a top speed of 12.5 miles per hour. That should be more than sufficient for most runners, as this equates to a per-mile pace of about 4 minutes and 48 seconds.
