Experience Using the Polar Monkeys Cyber Plunge
We’ve previously reviewed Polar Monkeys cold plunges in the past, including the Polar Monkeys Brainpod 2.0, Star Treatment 2.0, Portal X, and Contrast Edition, and we were excited to get our hands on the Cyber Plunge.
Overall, our expert product tester, Andy Ramos, was very impressed with this tub. He said that it felt very spacious and comfortable, which is important for anyone, whether you’re using hot or cold therapy.
“I’d say this would fit most adults without any problem,” Andy says. “That’s one of the advantages of this shape over the upright cylinder tubs, where a shorter person has to think about how deep they’re sitting.”

Footprint & Portability
For footprint & portability, the Cyber Plunge earns 3.5 out of 5 stars. It’s slightly larger than the average cold plunge, but not unreasonably so, and in return you’re getting a bigger tub that can hold more water.
It has a footprint of 69″ x 29″ W x 24″ H and weighs 180 pounds when empty, which should be manageable to move with two people. However, once full, it weighs 1,348 pounds, so you’ll want to make sure you find the perfect spot for it before filling it.

Delivery & Setup
The delivery and setup process was fairly straightforward, since the tub arrives as one solid unit and all you have to do is set it up with the chiller. It’s heavy and will take two people to move into place, but once you have it placed where you need it, hooking up the chiller is pretty quick.
Our tester also noted that the instructions weren’t very clear, and assembly was a little focusing, as we didn’t receive white glove delivery. However, retail customers should receive white glove delivery and have the tub assembled for them, though we can’t personally say what that process looks like.
Durability & Construction
The Polar Monkeys Cyber Plunge earns a strong 5-out-of-5-star rating for durability and construction, though the website notes that it’s not intended for commercial use.
It’s made of durable 316 marine-grade stainless steel, and it’s suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The stainless steel is a nice upgrade from other Polar Monkeys plunges, which use acrylic instead.
GGR publisher Shane Johnson, a welding expert, noted that the materials are very impressive here.
“The fabrication is really elegant and seamless, and you rarely see this fabrication quality in consumer and commercial stainless,” Shane told me. “It’s more of what you would expect to see in aerospace and scientific industrial applications.”
During our testing, we didn’t notice any wobbling or feelings of instability, and the whole plunge feels extremely well made. Yes, it’s expensive, but the materials are one reason why. This is a plunge that’s certainly built to last, and should withstand years of use.
We also like the ChillX chiller, which features a built-in filtration system and ozone sanitation, which helps keep the water in this stainless steel cold plunge clean between uses. It can chill your tub to 37° F, allowing you to enjoy cold exposure without having to create your own ice bath.

Ergonomics
Our tester gave this tub 4 out of 5 for ergonomics. While jumping into near-freezing water is never comfortable, the tub can also be used for warm water therapy, and either way, you’ll want to make sure you have enough room to stretch out.
“I’m six feet tall and I could fully stretch my legs out, which is not something I can do in most of these plunges,” our tester said. “No bent knees, and no shifting around to find a spot that works. I just laid back and stayed there, with zero cramped feeling.”
Conveniences
For conveniences, we’re looking at how easy it is to set and monitor the temperature of a given cold tub, and the Cyber Plunge earns 4 out of 5 stars.
The ChillX chiller provides a wide temperature range from 32° F to 107° F, allowing you to use the tub as both a hot tub and cold plunge. Our tester was also impressed by how quickly the chiller worked.
“This was great–it dropped the temperature by 20+ degrees in under 20 seconds,” he told me. “One of the biggest things mentally is ‘this is going to take forever to cool down,’ but I was shocked to see it drop 10 degrees in seconds.”
You can control the temperature using the Polar Monkeys app, however, the chillers don’t work with 5GHz Wi-Fi, which is a popular home setup.This means you may or may not be able to actually use the remote temperature control as intended, depending on your home network, which is why we docked a point for this category.
Draining & Cleaning
When it comes to cold plunge maintenance, the Cyber Plunge makes things pretty straightforward, and earns 4 out of 5 stars. The separate chiller has its own built-in filter with transparent hosing, allowing you to quickly check the status, and Polar Monkeys claims that it only takes about five minutes per week of maintenance when using the recommended sanitation kit.
However, we docked a point because the stainless steel is hard to maintain, even though it has a sleek, modern appearance. Our testers found that it displayed water marks nearly immediately, so you’d have to constantly wipe it down to keep it looking nice, and it shows fingerprints and scratches very easily.
Value
For value, we give this Polar Monkeys tub 3 out of 5 stars. There’s no denying the quality here–the durable stainless steel is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, it’s spacious enough for tall users, and the chiller provides a large temperature range. In other words, it provides just about everything you’d need from a cold plunge.
However, there’s no way to get around the $15,690 price tag. It’s a great plunge, but at this price point, it’s probably going to be a bit too much for most homeowners, especially when there are more affordable options on the market offering comparable functionality.

If you like the sleek, stainless steel aesthetic of the Cyber Plunge and want to splurge on something even better, you may want to consider the Polar Monkeys Contrast Edition. It features similar materials, but it features both a vertical and horizontal tub, functionally combining the Cyber Plunge and Cyber Barrel.
Each tub has its own separate chiller, which means you can customize the temperature of each side individually, allowing you to have both a hot tub and cold plunge at the same time to take advantage of contrast therapy. It’s significantly more expensive, but worth it if you want the best of the best.

If you’re shopping on a tighter budget, the Polar Dive Pro is a great choice. It’s surprisingly durable for the price, and the chiller is optional, which means you can use your own ice if you prefer to chill your water manually.
It’s a bit more compact than the Cyber Plunge, so you won’t be able to stretch out, but we don’t think this is a huge deal, especially how affordable the Polar Dive Pro is. For those on a budget, it’s hard to beat.
