Editor’s Note: The NordicTrack X11i is currently in closeout, which means it will soon be unavailable. We suggest viewing the NordicTrack X22i as the best alternative, or view our Best Treadmills list for more options.

The NordicTrack X11i is a top-of-the line commercial treadmill model with a slew of luxury add-ons and features, including a 10-inch touchscreen and incline settings up to 40%. It’s an expensive machine at over $2,200. The product is no longer being made and is on closeout on NordicTrack’s site, which means it likely won’t be available much longer after we publish this NordicTrack X11i review.

However, we think the NordicTrack X22i is a great alternative, providing a similar commercial cardio experience with a huge touchscreen, similar incline settings, and a more powerful motor.

We Know Treadmills

We live and breathe cardio here at Garage Gym Reviews. For us, it isn’t enough to just know about the treadmills — we need to know how it feels to use them too. That’s why we’ve spent hundreds of hours testing treadmill models from top brands like NordicTrack, Sunny Health & Fitness, Echelon and more. We know our expertise will be a huge help to you as you navigate the buying process.

Looking for an Alternative to the NordicTrack X11i?

Though the NordicTrack X11i is no longer available, we recommend you consider the NordicTrack X22i incline trainer of the same product line. The X22i provides a similar commercial-grade luxury workout experience, though at just under $3,000, it is a bit more expensive. That said, you get what you pay for—with a 22-inch HD display and incline settings that go from -6% to 40%, there isn’t much this treadmill can’t do.

A Quick Look at the NordicTrack X11i

The NordicTrack X11i incline trainer is, by all accounts, a luxury treadmill. The price point is over $2,200 and the incline settings go up to 40%—these aren’t features you get from a budget treadmill. In addition, the model features a sled push option that allows you to get an upper-body workout in while you’re taking care of your cardio. There’s a lot to like about this beast of a machine, but also some callouts you should be aware of as well.

Pros:

  • 10” HD display
  • 1-month iFit free trial
  • -6% to 40% incline range

Cons:

  • Expensive at over $2,200
  • Large footprint
  • Shorter warranty

Key Features of the NordicTrack X11i

The standout features on this incline treadmill include the sled push function, thanks to long, curved handlebars that extend from the sides of the machine up through either side of the console. There is also a 10-inch touchscreen and wide range of incline settings and built-in workouts.

Since the model comes with 44 preprogrammed workouts and a free month of iFIT, the touchscreen is a nice touch as well. You won’t have to worry about connecting your phone or tablet if you don’t want to, as the workouts are all right there in front of you on the monitor.

Also, a 40% incline maximum is about as high as you’ll see anywhere. The wide range allows you to switch up the intensity of your workout, and the controls are all user-friendly.

Footprint, Portability, and Durability

The NordicTrack Commercial X11i is a big machine. A 70-inch length isn’t something to mess around with, you’ll need a large amount of room in your home gym to store this model. This model doesn’t fold either, so portability isn’t one of its strong suits either. That said, the frame is made of heavy-duty steel and has a user weight capacity of 300 pounds. That’s actually a little lighter than what we would expect from a machine in this price range.

Though the warranty isn’t up to industry standards (we typically like to see a lifetime frame warranty instead of this 10-year one), I don’t think durability is something you need to be too concerned about. There is a 3.75 CHP (continuous horsepower) motor, which means this machine can tolerate heavy and frequent use on longer workouts and shorter, high-intensity ones as well.

Ergonomics

In terms of adjustability, this machine checks all the boxes. The incline settings are outstanding and really add some versatility to your workout and open the door for HIIT exercises. Obviously the maximum of 40% incline is great, but the fact that you can drop to a negative incline really puts the icing on the cake. The max speed is 12 MPH, which is pretty standard, and both speed and incline are easy to control and switch from what I’ve seen.

This machine comes with what NordicTrack calls Reflex Cushioning, which means the belt is meant to reduce impact on your joints. The tread belt is also one of the most spacious on the market, measuring 22 inches wide by 60 inches long.

Technology Benefits and Conveniences

The X11i has a lot to offer in the technology department. With a 10-inch smart HD touchscreen, iFIT compatibility and 44 preset workout programs, including manual mode, you have access to essentially all the interactive workout content you could want. Heads-up though, this model only comes with a 1-month free trial for iFIT, so if you go that route you will have to start paying for it once it expires.

iFIT gives you a personal trainer in your home gym, as a certified iFIT coach guides you through your workouts. The app also uses Google Maps, so you could do your incline training literally anywhere in the world.

Other conveniences on the X11i treadmill include:

  • Two “AutoBreeze” workout fans
  • OneTouch controls that allow you to quickly change speed and incline
  • Bluetooth chest strap for heart rate monitoring included
  • Two Bluetooth speakers

There is no tablet holder on the X11i.

Customer Reviews of the NordicTrack X11i

The X11i has 4.9 out of 5 stars on NordicTrack’s website. In many X11i incline trainer reviews, people note the ease of use and the fantastic workout. Those who use it enjoy the slew of tech and adjustability features it offers, and it seems to get the job done in the performance category.

Final Verdict of Our NordicTrack X11i Review

Though the X11i is discontinued, it’s a good representation for what a commercial-grade treadmill can provide. If commercial-grade is what you’re looking for, these are the features you should expect to find. However, this machine isn’t for everyone. It’s expensive so it appeals to only a specific group of buyers. If you’re looking to save money on a treadmill, this may not be the model for you.
