For those looking for a convenient, all-weather option to get your cardio done year-round, one of the best treadmills can be a great investment for home gym owners. And for those short on space, walking pads and under-desk treadmills offer a portable alternative, though they’re often a bit more limited when it comes to power.
If you’re a homeowner who wants the best of both worlds, a hybrid model, like the FoldiMax 5L, may be just what you’re looking for. It’s got some of the best features you’d expect to see on a full-sized treadmill, like impressive speed and incline capabilities, but it’s small and compact, and very affordable for how much value it offers.
I’ve had this portable treadmill in my home for a few months now, and have put quite a few miles on it. I can personally speak to the pros and cons, and in this Urevo FoldiMix 5L Smart Treadmill review, I’ll tell you everything you need to know.
Our Urevo FoldiMix 5L Smart Treadmill Review, Summarized
The FoldiMix 5L offers an impressive motor with plenty of speed and incline options that we rarely see on walking pads, and it’s very affordable for what it offers. It’s got some great conveniences that allow you to work while you walk, an impressive weight capacity, and automatic incline adjustments. However, the deck may be a bit too short for taller users or runners, and the built-in work desk feels a little shaky at times.
How We Test Treadmills
When shopping for a treadmill, especially a compact model like the FoldiMix 5L, the overall footprint is one of the most important considerations. In order to score a 3 or higher in this area, treadmills must be easy for one or two people to move around a space. A machine can score higher if it’s particularly compact or can fold, while larger and bulkier models will have a lower score.

This category rates how it feels to use a given treadmill, and considers both the overall footprint and any built-in cushioning. To get a 3 or higher here, a treadmill should have a running deck that is at least 18 inches wide and 55 inches long. Treadmills with good cushioning, more spacious running decks, or other ergonomic features like low step heights and handlebars can score higher here as well.

For treadmills in particular, durability is primarily based on the weight capacity and motor strength, though we also consider any excessive plastic components that may impact longevity. For 3 out of 5 stars, we should see a weight capacity that’s at least 275 pounds, a 2.5 CHP motor, and little to no shaking in use.

Each treadmill we review is taken through a careful testing process by our team of experts. We try all the settings, adjust the incline, move it around, run and walk, and more. This helps us get an accurate idea of how the treadmill feels to own and use, allowing us to score it properly using our treadmill testing methodology.

Our team of experts includes certified personal trainers, certified strength and conditioning specialists, nutrition coaches, triathletes, and even an Olympian. Many of us own treadmills and walking pads, and we regularly test as many as we can get our hands (and feet) on.

The UREVO FoldiMix 5L Smart Treadmill packs a 9% auto incline, adjustable workstation, and 400-pound weight capacity into a relatively compact package. Its short, narrow running surface and 7.6-MPH top speed make it better suited to walking and light running than serious running workouts.
What to Know Before You Buy
- The FoldiMix 5L features foldable handrails with a media tray and desk attachment, allowing you to turn it into a walking workstation, even if you don’t have a standing desk.
- While it offers a 0-9% auto-incline range and speeds up to 7.6 MPH, taller users will probably find it too short for running.
- The desk attachment and media tray can feel a little shaky in-use, especially compared to using a traditional standing desk, but that’s really the only complaint I have, especially for a treadmill that’s so affordable.
Is the Urevo FoldiMix 5L Smart Treadmill Worth It?
For less than $500 (and often less than $400 depending on promotions), this treadmill offers a surprising amount of power and an impressive weight capacity, and it’s ready to go out of the box. It’s a great choice for most people who want to get in more steps while they work, but it’s not the best fit for everyone.
If you’re on the fence, here’s who we think will love this treadmill, and who may want to choose something else.
Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s get into the key features and specs of the FoldiMix 5L, as well as my detailed thoughts and testing scores.

Experience Using the Urevo FoldiMix 5L Smart Treadmill
I bought this treadmill for my home office about three months prior to writing this review, and I use it regularly to increase my step count at home. I’ve used plenty of treadmills over the years, mostly in commercial gyms, and I’ve previously owned walking pads, too.
Urevo’s FoldiMix series also includes the Foldi 3S, Strol 2S Pro, and Strol 2E Pro. The 5L is the one with the highest weight capacity, and the only one with a built-in desk, although it may not work the way you’d expect—more on that later.
Overall, I think this is a great hybrid option, especially for those who are more concerned with low-intensity cardio and don’t need a treadmill for interval training, running, or any other high-intensity sort of training. Urevo considers this to be a 2-in-1 treadmill that can be used as both a walking pad for work, and a treadmill for running, although I wouldn’t necessarily suggest running on it.

While this may not be a concern for most users, I specifically chose this treadmill because I have a dog who will have a small panic attack if she hears high-pitched noises, like treadmill beeps, and the FoldiMax allows you to completely silence all of the digital noises. The motor is also pretty quiet in-use, although you can still hear someone using it from the other room.
If you’ve tried walking pads in the past but want something with more power, incline, and some great conveniences, without splurging on a full-sized treadmill, this is an excellent choice.
However, one callout is the deck length. It’s comfortable for walking, and shorter users may be able to jog comfortably, but tall users may struggle. That’s okay, though, as research suggests1 that simply increasing your daily step count may have health benefits, even if you aren’t walking particularly fast, and you don’t need to run if you don’t want to.
“The Urevo FoldiMix 5L Smart Treadmill is a great choice for home gym owners who primarily use treadmills for walking on a flat surface or an incline. The deck is a bit too short for running, but it’s small, compact, and surprisingly powerful. Moving it around is easy, so if you want something that offers traditional treadmill features without the large, bulky footprint, this is a great choice.”

Urevo FoldiMix 5L Smart Treadmill Rating

Footprint and Portability
For footprint and portability, I give this 5 out of 5 stars. It’s 52 inches long, 24.6 inches wide, and 43.7 inches tall when the handlebars are up, but they easily fold down to save space. It’s still 6.1 inches tall when folded, so it’s a bit too high to slide under my couch or bed, but it’s very light and easy to move.

I also like that it has built-in transport wheels, making it very easy to roll around as needed, and it only weighs 65.3 pounds. If you need to carry it around once folded up, two people should have no issue, though it’s quite easy to move around by yourself.
Delivery and Setup
The delivery and setup process was very quick and easy, and I give this 5 out of 5 stars. The box itself was a little bulky, but I didn’t have any issues bringing it into my house—though that’s the one step where you may need some assistance, since it weighs nearly 70 pounds.
Once it’s inside, it’s just about fully assembled, so you can plug it in and get started right away. If you unfold the handlebars, you’ll have the control console and media shelf in front of you. There are optional side handlebars you can install and a convenient desk attachment, but that only takes a few minutes to set up.
RELATED: Treadmill Desk Benefits
The whole process took me under five minutes, and the most time-consuming part was attaching the optional side handles. If you want to skip those, all you need to do is plug it in, and it’s ready to go.
Durability
For durability, the FoldiMix 5L earns 4 out of 5 stars. It’s surprisingly durable for the size and cost, with an impressive 400-pound weight capacity that’s strong enough to accommodate most users. It features a sturdy alloy steel frame with plastic covering the front motor.
Compared to most walking pads and under-desk treadmills, the FoldiMax 5L also packs a surprising amount of power. The 3.0 HP dual brushless motor motor can reach speeds up to 7.6 MPH, and you can adjust the incline from 0-9% with the push of a button—no need to stop your workout and manually adjust the settings, which I love.
RELATED: Walking for Weight Loss
It felt a little wobbly at first, but once I adjusted the floor stabilizers, it felt significantly better, and it now feels very stable. I don’t have many concerns about the longevity of the treadmill, but I docked a point due to some slight wobbling and shaking of the handles.

Since the handlebars can fold up and down, there’s a little bit of movement when using the treadmill. It doesn’t impact your stride at all, but if you’re using the desk attachment to rest your laptop, or you’ve got your phone or tablet on the media shelf, it can feel a little shaky, especially at higher speeds.
Customizations
For customizations, the FoldiMix 5L earns 3.5 out of 5 stars. It’s very impressive compared to walking pads, but we’re comparing it to standard treadmills, since it categorizes itself as one, and it’s not quite as good as a full-sized machine.
The 7.6 MPH top speed is very impressive for a walking pad, but compared to standard treadmills, it falls a bit short. I also love that the incline can range from 0-9%, and there are no manual adjustments. You can easily change the incline setting up or down with the click of a button, even while you’re using the treadmill.
It’s not quite as customizable as a full-sized treadmill, but compared to other walking pads, the customizations are very impressive.
Ergonomics
For the ergonomics, the FoldiMix 5L gets 3 out of 5 stars. It’s great for brisk walking on any type of incline, but it’s a bit too short for running or interval training. That said, it’s comfortable to use, has a 12-point shock absorption system, handlebars with an adjustable height, and hardly wobbles once you adjust the floor stabilizers.
Now I wouldn’t typically expect to be able to run on a walking pad, which is how I use this, but since it claims to be a dual treadmill that’s good for both a walking desk and running workouts, it’s worth pointing out.
The 52-inch deck length is spacious enough for walking, but I wouldn’t run on it. I’m 6’2” and find that if I walk too fast, I have to carefully avoid stepping on the front motor area. It works well enough for brisk incline walking, my preferred method for zone 2 cardio, but those taller than me may find it a bit too small. I would love a few more inches of deck length, but at this price point, I really can’t complain too much.
Tech Capabilities
This compact treadmill earns 4 out of 5 stars for tech capabilities. While the built-in display is fairly basic, it has all the metrics you’d expect to see, like speed, incline, and duration, and it also has a built-in step counter, which is a nice touch for those who use this as a walking desk.

You can control your settings with the touchbar or the included remote control, which has its own resting spot on the desk attachment.
However, the standout feature is definitely the free Urevo app. It’s easy to pair via Bluetooth, and allows you to access all kinds of great features, like real-time fitness tracking, virtual scenic workouts, interval workouts, and more, though some of the features require a paid plan. It also syncs with Apple Health, and works on Android, too.
I probably wouldn’t use interval training on such a small treadmill, but it’s there if you want it.
Conveniences
For conveniences, I give this a 4 out of 5. When you unfold it, there’s not much to see besides a basic control panel, but it comes with handlebars you can quickly install, a media shelf, and a portable desk attachment for the handlebars.
The desk tray gives you convenient storage for your treadmill remote or other small items. It also has a cupholder, and should be big enough to fit most laptops. I think this is a great option for those who want to get in their steps while they work but don’t own a standing desk, although it can feel slightly wobbly depending on how fast you’re walking.

Dynamic Programming
For this category, the FoldiMix 5L earns a 4 out of 5. It has a surprising amount of built-in programming options with the free app, although I’m not sure how practical all of them are.

The app offers workout tracking, including total steps and other metrics, and you can use the app to control your treadmill. There are also preset workouts that automatically adjust your speed and incline, although I wouldn’t feel comfortable running on this treadmill as a taller-than-average person.

There’s also a world tour mode that allows you to follow virtual scenic routes while you walk, which is a nice touch, but you’ll have to use your phone or table on the media shelf.
Value
In my opinion, this is an easy 5 out of 5 for value.
It’s significantly better than any other walking pad I’ve tried, while costing about the same as your average under-desk treadmill. It’s listed at $499, but in the months since I’ve bought it, I’ve never seen the actual price go above $319, which is a steal for what you’re getting. I need something for walking while I work, or brisk incline walking for a more challenging cardio experience, and this offers both.
If you don’t want to spend thousands on a full-sized treadmill, this is an excellent budget-friendly alternative that provides a ton of great features.

Customer Experience
For the customer experience, Urevo earns a 4-out-of-5 star rating.
Ordering was very easy, and the treadmill arrived at my doorstep in only a few days, with free shipping. You can also finance your order with Shop Pay if you’d like, and there’s a one-year warranty included. You can add an extra 180 days of warranty coverage once you pair your machine with the free app.
If you need to reach customer service, you can call or email them, or submit a message using the contact form on the site. There’s also a “live chat” feature, but you’ll be chatting with an AI bot that I didn’t find particularly useful.
Customer Reviews
The FoldiMix 5L has a 5-star rating with 48 reviews on the Urevo site, and a 4.2 rating on Amazon with 286 reviews at the time of writing.
Most people were very happy, although one user had a similar experience as I did, where the desk attachment feels wobbly in-use. I didn’t mind it while I was typing, but it’s a little distracting when you’re trying to watch something on a phone or tablet, and the whole thing wobbles.
Overall, it’s a great treadmill with a decent, but not perfect, workstation.

Urevo FoldiMix 5L Smart Treadmill Vs
I’m a big fan of this treadmill for my needs, but it’s certainly not the only great choice on the market, especially since it’s considered a folding treadmill, and acts as a hybrid between a walking pad and full-sized treadmill.
If you want a true walking pad and don’t need this much speed, incline, or a built-in desk, I’d go with the WalkingPad P1 Classic Folding Treadmill instead. It’s much more compact, and while it has a lower weight capacity and lower top speed, it’s easier to store and can fold to be even more compact.
On the other hand, if you want to spend a bit more and invest in a full-sized treadmill, you may want to consider the Bowflex T6 Treadmill. It’s one of our favorite value picks, costing around $1,200. If you’re considering upgrading from the FoldiMix 5L to a standard treadmill, the T6 makes a lot of sense for those who want a full-sized machine that’s not going to cost $2,000+.

Final Verdict of Our Urevo FoldiMix 5L Smart Treadmill Review
The Urevo FoldiMix 5L Smart Treadmill is a compact, foldable treadmill that’s an excellent choice for anyone who wants something with more features than a traditional walking pad, while still shopping on a budget.
It offers impressive speed and incline options, along with a strong 400-pound weight capacity, although the deck is too short for most people to run on. However, if you want something that can be used as both an under-desk treadmill as well as a traditional walking treadmill with incline capabilities, this is a great choice.
- The 0-9% incline range and 7.6 MPH top speed are impressive, especially since the incline adjusts automatically, with no manual adjustments required.
- The workstation is great in theory, but a bit wobbly while you’re walking, which may bother some.
- Those who enjoy virtual workouts will love the Urevo app, but the belt is probably too short for runners.
