Editor’s Note: The Sole F60 Treadmill is no longer in production. We suggest viewing the Sole F63 Treadmill as the best alternative, or view our Best Treadmills for more options.

The Sole F60 Treadmill is no longer an active machine in the Sole fleet, which means it may be time to find a new and better version if you have one in your garage gym or personal workout space. You should know what the best features for the F60 are so you have a good idea of what to look for in your next treadmill of choice.

This Sole F60 Treadmill review will cover all the bases, including the specs, running surface, and more. Whether you want something for regular cardio or you’re training for a long-distance race or event, you will have the best information to work with regarding this treadmill and options to consider when you’re ready to replace it.

We’ve Got Plenty of Sole

Our testers at Garage Gym Reviews know treadmills because we study them, analyze them, critique them, and, most importantly, we use them. We have extensively reviewed Sole treadmills as well as ellipticals and other products from the brand. We also understand the value of a hard-earned dollar, and it provides even more value when it’s invested in the right exercise equipment.

Looking for an Alternative to the Sole F60?

If you’re ready to make a switch and move on from the Sole F60, or you need a suggestion for something similar, then we recommend you stay within the Sole family. Sole Fitness is known for high-quality cardio machines like ellipticals, and they have a popular line of affordable treadmills, too. You can find their products on their site as well as on Amazon and other third-party retailers.

You should consider the Sole F63 treadmill for your next purchase because it is reasonably priced at around $1,000, has great durability, and has extras like cooling fans and incline training.

Key Features of the Sole F60

Let’s address the elephant in the room. It’s not often you see a high-quality treadmill in the $800 price range, but that is what Sole offered for the F60. That made it a great option for people who were working with tight budgets. The flywheel and motor are quiet, which won’t disturb others while you’re getting your workout in.

This is a folding treadmill, and the “horseshoe” design of the F60 makes it easier to fold. The 20-inch-wide-by-60-inch-long running deck is great for even tall runners. Also, the treadmill has a top speed of 12 MPH, however, the 2.75 CHP motor indicates this isn’t a machine designed for heavy and frequent use.

The cooling fans will come in handy on hot days, but you shouldn’t have them pointed directly at your face if you wear contact lenses. The fans reportedly are strong enough that they may dry your contacts out.

There are also pulse grips that you can use to check your heart rate during the workout and an LCD display that you can look at to gauge your progress during your walk or run. You can plug your smartphone or tablet into the AC outlet to listen with the treadmill’s speakers without headphones, but the treadmill does not have Bluetooth capability.

Footprint, Portability, and Durability

The F60 will take up over 6 feet of length when it is unfolded, and the display and handles are almost 5 feet tall. That is a significant amount of space, but we’ve certainly seen bigger treadmills on the market.

The treadmill folds up easily, At over 200 pounds, it can be a challenge to move, even with wheels on the bottom, unless you’re a stronger athlete. If you have the space to spare, you may want to simply leave the treadmill where you intend to use it.

The machine itself has a 275-pound user weight capacity, which isn’t quite up to industry standards, but is decent for a treadmill under $1,000. However, the durability of the machine has been questioned by some users when they tried to run at top speeds.

Technology Benefits and Conveniences

As you could expect with a budget treadmill, there is no fancy touchscreen on the F60. Instead, there is a basic LCD display that will relay your metrics.

There are 10 built-in programs on the treadmill that offer variety for those who want unique challenges. However, the lack of Bluetooth and inability to connect the treadmill to an app such as the Sole app does leave something to be desired.

Another plus is the size of the cup holder and cubby holes for your phone or other items you want to keep close, as well as cooling fans.

Final Verdict of Our Sole F60 Treadmill Review

Beginners, people who are trying to spare the wallet, and recreational fitness enthusiasts could be very satisfied if they get their hands on the Sole F60, but more advanced athletes may want to hold off on this one and opt for another of Sole’s treadmills or any of the treadmills that made our Best Budget Treadmills list.

Sole F60 Treadmill FAQs

Is Sole F60 discontinued?

It has been discontinued, but they offer several more options, including the F63, which could be considered an even better option for many intermediate and advanced home gym owners.

Can you run on a Sole F60 treadmill?

You can run on the Sole F60. The top speed is up to 12 miles per hour, but some users didn’t feel comfortable running at that speed. Users who want to take part in high-intensity interval training or joggers that want to run at a slower pace should have a good experience on this treadmill.

Is Sole a good brand for treadmills?

Sole Fitness is one of the more popular cardio machine brands in the game, and that is because they offer high-quality treadmills, ellipticals, and more. We feel that home gym owners can be confident when they choose a Sole Fitness product for their cardio needs.

How heavy is the Sole F60 treadmill?

The Sole F60 weighs 207 pounds when assembled, and you will have to assemble it when it arrives. It does fold and has wheels, but it still may be somewhat of a challenge to move for some users.

How to Speak Gym Lingo: Words to Know Before Hitting the Weight Room

Training can sometimes involve speaking a whole new language, so here’s a handy Gym-to-English dictionary Picture this: You walk into an ice cream shop and the person behind the counter asks you if you want Jimmies with your order. “What the heck is a Jimmy?” you might ask yourself, depending on what part of the country you’re from (for those who don’t know, they’re sprinkles).  The same confusion can often happen to people who hear gym lingo for the first time.  » Read more about: How to Speak Gym Lingo: Words to Know Before Hitting the Weight Room  »
