Editor’s Note: The NordicTrack Elite 5700 Treadmill is no longer in production. We suggest viewing the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 as the best alternative or looking at our Best Treadmills list for more options.

NordicTrack and sister brand ProForm have a reputation for producing solidly built cardio equipment, and the NordicTrack Elite 5700 treadmill was no exception. This was an affordable treadmill designed to bring the trusted brand into in-person retailers such as Sears. This NordicTrack machine has since been discontinued, but you may find one floating around secondhand. If that’s the case, we want to share what we know about this heavy-duty machine in our NordicTrack Elite 5700 treadmill review.

We Know Treadmills

The team at Garage Gym Reviews loves testing fitness equipment and good thing, because more is released all the time. The certified personal trainers, CrossFit Level 1 Trainers, and other fitness professionals on our team have tested and determined the best of a variety of cardio equipment such as ellipticals, treadmills, and bikes. We also know NordicTrack specifically, as we’ve tested the entire line of currently available NordicTrack treadmills to help determine which one is best for you and your fitness needs. We’ll use all this knowledge to evaluate the NordicTrack Elite 5700 based on available specs and help you find a good alternative treadmill since the Elite 5700 is discontinued.

Looking for an Alternative to NordicTrack 5700 Treadmill?

The NordicTrack 5700 has been discounted, but there are a few alternatives to fit your home gym. If you want to stick with NordicTrack, we love the Commercial 1750. This machine would be an upgrade option, as it’s about $1,000 more expensive than the Elite 5700. It has many of the same specs such as 12 miles-per-hour top speed, and incline and decline abilities. The Commercial 1750 has a larger 14-inch screen that can rotate for off-treadmill workouts. It also features AutoAdjust technology, where iFIT trainers will adjust your speed and incline so you can focus on your workout.

If you’re looking for a budget option from NordicTrack, the EXP 7i is available and is our best overall treadmill under $1,500. Similar to the Elite 5700, the EXP 7i has a 7-inch screen, iFIT compatibility and a top speed of 12 MPH. However, it only has incline capability. You can check our other great treadmills under $1500, too.

Key Features of the NordicTrack 5700 Treadmill

The NordicTrack Elite 5700 had a lot of standout features at an affordable price, retailing for just under $1,500 prior to being discontinued. The Elite 5700 had a foldable design with a large 22-inch-wide-by-60-inch-long running surface. The 3.8 continuous horsepower (CHP) motor can achieve a top speed of 12 miles per hour, an incline of 15%, and a decline of 3%. The console has a variety of features to create a comfortable workout. The Elite 5700 can also monitor your heart rate with either a wireless chest strap or contact grips. We’ll get into more details below.

Footprint, Portability, and Durability

This is a large machine with dimensions just under six-and-a-half feet long and just over three feet wide. Fortunately, the treadmill will fold with SpaceSaver design and EasyLift Assist. The EasyLift assist will help you raise and lower the running deck without difficulty. It features a hydraulic lift, so you don’t have to worry about the deck dropping and harming your floors. This machine is not very portable. It is large and heavy. Once you have this in your home you won’t want to be moving it around much, even with the transport wheels.

The motor on the Elite 5700 is a 3.8 CHP motor, which is more than enough power for your workouts. We look for treadmills to have at least a 3.0 CHP motor for regular running use. It has an impressive user weight capacity of 400 pounds, which is much more than the industry standard 300 pounds. It also has an impressive warranty: lifetime frame and motor, five-year parts and electronics, and two-year labor. These things indicate the Elite 5700 will likely hold up well in your home.

Ergonomics

The large frame allows this treadmill to have a spacious 22-inch-wide and 60-inch-long running belt. This is large enough to accommodate taller runners, who will be able to reach a full stride easily on a deck of this length. The Elite 5700 also features FlexSelect cushioning. This allows you to customize the cushioning for your needs. If you want to run with more cushioning, turn FlexSelect on. If you turn it off, you’ll have a less cushioned running surface that more closely mimics the outdoor runs.

Technology Benefits and Conveniences

The Elite 5700 has a lot of technological benefits. It features a 7-inch color touchscreen display. There are 38 built-in workouts and the iFIT compatibility gives you access to thousands of additional treadmill and non-treadmill workouts with a subscription. You can even create your own routes with Google Maps. You can also monitor your heart rate with both contact-grip heart rate monitors and a wireless chest strap.

Conveniences on the console include one-touch controls for easy adjustments of both speed and incline/decline. The console also has two water bottle holders, AutoBreeze fans, and smartphone docking station. The console features dual three-inch speakers for playing your favorite workout mix as well.

Final Verdict of Our NordicTrack Elite 5700 Treadmill Review

The NordicTrack Elite 5700 treadmill was a good treadmill at a great price point. It was sold via in-person retailers and was discontinued when NordicTrack re-evaluated their treadmill line. There are multiple solid alternatives, like the Commercial 1750, if you’re looking for something new.
