We were all surprised by how good they tasted, especially since they looked and tasted like Gatorade, a welcome change of pace after years of drinking thick, milky shakes.
At the time, companies weren’t selling powdered versions of these clear protein shakes that you could make at home, but now they’re on the shelves of nearly every supplement store. SEEQ clear whey protein isolate has become one of the more popular options since it was launched in 2018, as it’s become TikTok- and Instagram-famous.
SEEQ protein powder has a unique clear consistency and delicious juicy flavor, with a great nutrient profile. Each serving contains 22 grams of protein, with minimal fats and carbs, and no added sugar, gluten, or unnecessary calories.

It’s not the cheapest way to get your protein in, but it’s a nice change of pace if you’re tired of classic whey protein shakes.

Experience Using SEEQ Clear Whey Protein Isolate
For this review, two of our testers were able to try SEEQ clear whey protein isolate: Amanda Capritto, CPT, CNC, and Nicole Davis, CPT, PN1-NC. Amanda tested Blue Razz and Nicole tested Mango Pineapple, and they both loved the refreshing, juicy protein flavors they chose.
Our testers found that the product became a bit foamy in a shaker cup, but the foam settles down if you wait for about 30 seconds, which is what the tub tells you to do.
Strangely, both Amanda and Nicole reported that on the very first day of using the shake, they had an upset stomach for a few hours, but it never happened again. If you do get an upset stomach, it may go away after the first use.
It’s also worth noting that SEEQ doesn’t offer any kind of return policy, so if you end up with persistent digestive issues, you’re stuck with the tub. That being said, let’s dive into the specific testing criteria we used to score SEEQ clear whey protein isolate.
Price Per Serving
For pricing, SEEQ earns a 3.25 out of 5 rating. When purchasing directly from SEEQ, the price per serving ranges from $1.53 to $1.79, but you need to set up a subscription to receive the lower price. At a standard price of $1.79, this is slightly higher than the average price per serving of the proteins we’ve tested, which is $1.75 per serving.
Formulation
Each serving contains 100 calories, with one gram of carbs and zero grams of fat, along with 22 grams of protein, earning a 4.5 out of 5 for the formulation.
While 22 grams of protein is a little low, this isn’t a huge deal, as this is part of the reason why the total calories are so low. However, many other types of whey protein powder will have 25 grams of protein, so we docked half of a point for this.

While the protein contains naturally occurring amino acids, there are no added BCAAs listed on the label. SEEQ uses sucralose, so if you prefer a protein drink that’s only sweetened with stevia, you’ll need to look elsewhere.
Taste and Solubility
For taste, SEEQ earns a 4.75 out of 5, and a 4.5 out of 5 for solubility.
Our testers tried Blue Razz Freeze and Mango Pineapple, and both flavors passed our taste test with flying colors. When mixed in a shaker cup, the product initially gets very foamy, so you have to shake it and then wait for the foam to settle down. Those used to traditional protein shakes may not expect the foam, but it goes away quickly.
If you let it settle, the foam disappears and the texture is fine, Amanda says. “It’s slightly grainy, but barely noticeable, especially if you’re swigging.”
Side Effects
For side effects, we give SEEQ a 4 out of 5 rating. While both Amanda and Nicole didn’t have any ongoing side effects, they both reported that their very first shake caused an upset stomach for a few hours. It never happened again with continued use, and Amanda finished her entire tub, but this is a weird thing to happen to both of our testers.
I read most of the negative reviews I could find, and while most were about the flavor, a couple did mention the upset stomach after a shake.

There’s no third-party testing available for SEEQ, but the label is transparent and they seem like an honest company, so we gave them a 2 out of 5 rating. This may be because SEEQ is still a new, smaller company, and testing can get expensive. This seems to be a high-quality protein source, but we can’t say for sure without third-party testing.

There is no refund policy, and all sales are final unless your product arrives damaged, which is a big deal when purchasing something that’s a bit pricey. There’s no phone number or email listed, but they do have a contact form you can fill out if you want to reach them for something else.

You can purchase any flavor of SEEQ from their website for $44.99, or set up a subscription that will automatically deliver a new tub every four, six, or eight weeks, bringing the cost down to $38.24 per tub. You can also purchase it from Amazon, but it’ll cost $49.99 and does not include free shipping.
Orders over $50 can also be purchased with Shop Pay, which allows you to split your order into four interest-free payments.
Shipping from SEEQ is free if you spend more than $70, so you’ll get free shipping on two or more tubs, otherwise, you’ll pay a shipping fee that’s calculated based on your address.
Finally, SEEQ offers a sampler pack for $10.99, which provides a single serving of their three best-selling flavors: Blue Razz, Mango Pineapple, and Watermelon Wave. They only have five flavors, so I’m not sure why they don’t include all five in the sampler, but it’s still nice to try a serving before purchasing the whole tub.

At the time of writing, SEEQ has over 1,200 reviews on Amazon across all flavors, with an average rating of 4.1 out of 5. On the SEEQ website, there are over 3,600 reviews with an average rating of 4.8 out of 5, with hundreds of 5 star reviews and very few negative reviews.
Most customers love the taste, solubility, and flavors, though a few negative reviews said they didn’t like the taste at all, and the artificial sweeteners were overpowering.
Final Verdict of Our SEEQ Clear Whey Protein Isolate Review
While clear whey proteins seem a bit strange for those of us with years of experience chugging chocolate and vanilla shakes, our testers were pleasantly surprised by how much they enjoyed SEEQ clear whey protein isolate.
It’s a little bit pricey, but it’s a great way to enjoy more variety in your protein shakes. The biggest problem we had was the lack of third-party testing, and the lack of a return policy, which brought the overall rating down.
That said, if you’re tired of thick, milky protein shakes and want to give clear whey proteins a try, SEEQ is a great option.
