A person breaking a Think Protein Bar in half.

Protein bars are a great option for those struggling to reach their daily protein goals, but not all bars are created equal, and finding a protein bar with both good nutrition and good flavor can feel overwhelming. As a certified nutrition coach with over a decade of experience in the fitness industry, I’ve tried countless protein bars over the years, and I’ve lost count of how many times I was excited about a new bar, only to be met with disappointment.

In this Think Protein Bars review, I’ll be taking a look at this popular low-carb option from the brand think!, formerly known as thinkTHIN. Is this one of the best protein bars you can enjoy in 2024, or is this another chewy, flavorless brick of protein?

Let’s take a closer look at what our expert tester thought of the macros, flavor, and texture of this popular protein bar.

Tested by Protein Experts

All of our reviews are powered by hands-on testing from our team of experts, which is made up of certified nutrition coaches, certified personal trainers, registered dietitians, and more. Together, we’ve spent years testing as many products as we can get our hands on.

For this review, Caine Wilkes, USAW-L1, a weightlifting coach and Olympian, put the think! Delight Protein Bars to the test. As with all of our product testing, he carefully scored these bars according to our supplement testing methodology, which rates specific aspects of a product on a scale of 1 to 5, including:

  • Taste
  • Ingredients
  • Price per Serving
  • Texture
  • Side Effects

The Low Carb think! Keto Bars are available in four popular flavors and make for a great on-the-go snack for those following a keto diet.

A Quick Look at Think Protein Bars

The brand think! was founded by Lizanne Falsetto, a single mom with a passion for healthy food. The company was originally named thinkTHIN, and shortened the name to think! in the summer of 2019.

The company offers a variety of snack bars, designed for portable nutrition on the go. The full line-up includes high-protein bars, plant-based bars, snack bars that are a little lower in protein, crisp bars, and dessert-flavored bars to satisfy a sweet tooth.

RELATED: Best Low-Sugar Protein Bars

For this review, our tester specifically tested the think! Delight bar, a low-carb, gluten-free option that’s meant to work well with ketogenic diets, with only 2 grams of net carbs per bar and 10 grams of protein. This isn’t the highest protein content we’ve seen, but it’s nice to have a low-carb option for those looking to follow a nutritional plan that’s low in carbohydrates.

The bar is available in Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie, which we tested, as well as Chocolate Mousse and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. The original high-protein option is available in Brownie Crunch, Creamy Peanut Butter, Chunky Peanut Butter, and Chocolate Fudge.

Before You Buy

  • This bar is certainly keto-friendly, with only 2 grams of net carbs and 14 grams of fat per bar.
  • Each bar contains 10 grams of protein, which is lower than many other options.
  • Overall, even though this bar is pretty low in protein compared to other options, it’s a great fit for anyone following a low-carb diet who prefers more dietary fat.

Are Think Protein Bars Worth It?

The think! Delight bars cost $2.40 per bar when you buy a whole box, which is in the middle of the pack of the 50+ bars we’ve tested. However, while the price is relatively low, so is the protein content, so this may not be a good fit for all fitness goals.

Great for:

  • Those looking for keto-friendly snack options
  • Anyone looking for a tasty snack who doesn’t need a high amount of protein
  • People who don’t mind a protein bar that’s high in fat

Not recommended for:

  • Anyone following a low-fat nutrition plan
  • Those looking for a large serving of protein in each bar

Experience Using Think Protein Bars

For this review, Caine Wilkes, USAW-L1, an Olympian and weightlifting coach, tested the think! Delight Protein Bars, which is a keto-friendly protein bar. The bar is available in three flavors, and he tested the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie flavor.

NOTE: We tested these bars before the packaging was redesigned, but the bar hasn’t changed and still has identical flavors and macros.

A think! Keto Bar in the wrapper next to a box of bars.

Overall, Caine enjoyed the bars and was surprised by how good they tasted, although the protein content was a little low. “For keto, it’s a nice dessert or snack option, but this wouldn’t be my pick for a protein source,” he says.

If you’re after the highest protein content, you may want to choose the high-protein variety from think!, but we’ve only tested the keto-friendly Delight bars.

RELATED: Best Protein Bar for Bodybuilding

We tested this bar before think! rebranded the packaging, so our image looks a little bit different, but the flavors, ingredients, and macros are the same, only the packaging has changed.

The biggest callout from Caine is the low amount of protein, coming in at only 10 grams, which is lower than many competitors. Caine said that while he enjoyed the taste, this bar seemed like it was meant for those following a keto diet, and it wouldn’t be his first choice if he was looking for protein.

Price Per Serving

The think! Delight bars are sold in boxes of 10, which retail for $23.99 to $25.20 at the time of writing, though prices may vary based on the retailer. Using the low-end price of $23.99, the current price on the think! website, each bar costs $2.40, earning a 3-out-of-5 rating for price per serving.

Ingredients

When it comes to the ingredients and macros in this protein bar, this is the weakest category in our opinion and we scored it a 2-out-of-5-star rating.

This bar is certainly keto-friendly, with a very low carb content and moderate fat content, but this comes at the cost of protein, which is only 10 grams in the Delight protein bar. Many other protein bars we’ve tested have 15 to 20 grams of protein, if not more, so this is quite low.

RELATED: Best Low-Carb Protein Bar

Think Keto Bars

The total sugars are 2 grams, dietary fiber comes in at 3 grams, and the total fat is 14 grams, with no trans fat. Each bar also contains 180 milligrams of potassium, which is 4% of the recommended daily value, and 5 milligrams of cholesterol.

Now, we’d have scored this higher if they called this a snack bar, but considering it’s marketed as a protein bar, we were hoping for a little more protein in each bar.

Taste

When it comes to taste, Caine gave these bars a final score of 4 out of 5 stars.

He tried the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie flavor and said the flavor was great, with the chocolate and peanut butter tastes really shining. In particular, he noted that he was very surprised he didn’t notice any sort of stevia, or other sweetener flavor, and no chalky taste or unusual texture.

“The inside of the bar is a little dry, but with the chocolate coating and crunch from the peanut bits inside, I actually enjoyed the texture overall,” he says.

Side Effects

Caine didn’t notice any side effects, giving this a 5-out-of-5 rating.

As with all protein bars, individuals may have sensitivities with specific ingredients, such as artificial sweeteners, sugar alcohols, peanuts, or any other individual ingredient. However, we didn’t have any issues in our testing.

Think Protein Bars vs Legion Athletics Protein Bar

Legion Athletics Protein Bar

Legion Athletics Protein Bar

GGR Score: 4.3

Product Highlights

  • Blend of whey and milk protein
  • Plant-based carbs, fats, and prebiotic fiber
  • Third-party tested
  • No proprietary blends
  • Money-back guarantee

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • All natural
  • Non-GMO
  • Third-party tested
  • Money-back guarantee
  • NSF-certified
  • FDA-inspected, cGMP facilities

Cons

  • Too hard for some
  • Contains stevia and erythritol (a sugar alcohol)
  • 4 g of added sugar

Bottom Line

If you are looking for an all-natural protein bar and do not mind a little added sugar, the Legion Athletics Protein Bars are available in two popular flavors.

If you’re not looking for a keto-friendly bar, the Legion Athletics Protein Bar is a great alternative.

Formulated with natural ingredients and a great macro profile, Legion Athletics is one of the few companies that performs third-party testing on its protein bars, which isn’t common, as protein bars are generally classified as food, not supplements.

You’re paying more per bar, and the calories are higher, but all ingredients are non-GMO, NSF-certified, and come with a money-back guarantee if you’re not satisfied.

It’s higher in calories, but also higher in protein, which is beneficial for those looking to build muscle and recover between workouts. Overall, think! protein bars are a better choice for those who want a lower-calorie option, but Legion Athletic bars are better for those who want more protein in each serving.

Customer Experience

For the customer experience, which looks at the return policy and how easy it is to reach customer service, Caine gave these bars a score of 5 out of 5. There’s a 90-day return policy and satisfaction guarantee, for any reason, on purchases through the website, though if you purchase from other retailers, you may need to follow their return policy.

There are plenty of ways to contact the company, including phone and email.

Ordering Think Protein Bars

You can order think! Delight bars from the company website, and they’re also sold on Amazon, available in a 10-count box. At the time of writing, the Amazon price is lower than the company website and includes free Prime shipping, though prices may vary.

Think! offers free shipping on orders over $69, otherwise your shipping rates will vary depending on where you live.

Customer Reviews

The bars currently have an average rating value of 4.5 out of 5 on Amazon, based on over 900 reviews.

Customers love the taste, though some have noted a bit of an aftertaste, and the bars may melt in transit if you order them online.

Final Verdict of Our Think Protein Bars Review

Overall, while think! Delight protein bars are a great snack with surprisingly good flavor, the protein content is pretty low compared to many other options, so this wouldn’t be our top choice if we were looking for protein.

Those following a low-carb or keto diet will enjoy these, but if you’re an athlete or fitness enthusiast looking to maximize your protein intake, you may want to consider another option that’s a bit higher in protein.

  • Great flavor, with a low total carbohydrate count and a moderate amount of fat.
  • Only 10 g of protein per bar, which is lower than many other popular bars.
