Factor75 is a heat-and-eat delivery service that works well for those on specialized diets. Boxes are delivered weekly, and you can mix and match from different menu plans to maximize your menu variety.

After putting some of the best keto meal delivery services to the test, Factor came out on top, in our expert testers’ opinions. Factor takes the stress out of healthy living by providing already prepared meals right to your doorstep. And the best part? The meals are always fresh—never frozen!

Factor offers six plan sizes with 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, or 18 meals delivered to you each week at $11.49 to $13.99 per serving. The meal options change weekly (score!) and can satisfy a variety of dietary needs and taste preferences. Factor offers low-calorie, vegetarian, vegan, and keto meals, among others.

Factor Meals Chicken Alfredo With Broccoli
A prepared meal from Factor of Chicken Alfredo with Broccoli

Factor’s keto-friendly meals contain at least 60% of their calories from fat, approximately 20% from protein, and 10% or less from carbohydrates. And Factor understands that nutrition needs, especially when trying to reach ketosis, can vary significantly between individuals, so they’ve made their nutrition information easily accessible, earning a 5 out of 5 in the category. Simply click on the meals you’re interested in, and review their ingredients and nutrition content.

Each meal is designed to feed one adult, but our very own Amanda Capritto, CPT, CES, CNC, CF-L1, says they’re enough to feed a very hungry athlete, rating the portion size at 4.5 out of 5:

“This is the only meal service I tried that had ample portions! These meals can fill up a triathlete in the middle of a tough training block, so they can fill up just about anyone. Some of these are quite high in calories for one meal (750-800), just something to be cognizant of depending on your goals.”

Factor Meals Blueberry Pancakes Plated
A breakfast meal from Factor on a plate, with a canine friend eagerly watching.

Factor offers keto-friendly meals like Chorizo Chili, Baja Salmon, Parmesan Garlic Chicken Wings, and keto add-ons like shakes, breakfasts, desserts, and sides. And this dietitian’s favorite part? Factor offers a free 20-minute consultation with a registered dietitian. Plus, you can skip a delivery or cancel your subscription anytime without ever interacting with a human—a major win for us introverts! We rate the ordering process at 5 out of 5.

One potential drawback, Perry Nix, RD, points out: “Factor isn’t the best option for families considering you can only buy single-serve meals. The cost of buying several for an entire family would add up quickly.” The middle-of-the-road pricing earns it a 3 out of 5.

Read our full Factor meals review for more information.

For a slightly cheaper prepared meal service, try BistroMD, which comes in a little less expensive than Factor. However, BistroMD meals arrive frozen.

Diet-To-Go accommodates a number of dietary preferences and restrictions, but the menu doesn’t have quite as much variety as some of the other programs. These are heat-and-eat meals, so they’re ready to eat in just 3 minutes.

Diet-to-Go is a meal delivery service that focuses on making healthy eating accessible and affordable, helping customers maintain a healthy weight. Customers can choose between diabetes-friendly, Mediterranean, vegetarian, and keto meal plans. Diet-to-Go provides chef-prepared, portion-controlled meals, and their Keto-Carb30 plan is no exception.

Dietician Perry Nix says of the service, “Diet-to-Go is super convenient for people who want to lose weight by improving their diet but don’t have the time to cook meals. Meal plans include options for those following a keto, Mediterranean, or low-carb diet. These diets can promote short-term weight loss.”

Diet To Go Meal
Our tester shows one of the several Diet-To-Go meals that she tried out.

Choose from hundreds of keto-friendly meal options and wait for your pre-made meals to arrive at your doorstep, ready to heat and eat! The price per serving ranges from $10.76-$15.20, depending on the number of meals in your subscriptions. You can order two or three meals per day, five or seven days per week.

Diet-to-Go works off a five-week rotating menu, with keto options such as Scrambled Egg Rancheros, Pork BBQ Ribs, and Eggplant Manicotti. Who says a low-carb diet has to be bland?

Additionally, Diet-to-Go doesn’t add any preservatives or additives to their meals. And they use organic ingredients and limit artificial sweeteners when possible.

Since this meal delivery service plan is geared toward weight loss, the calorie content is on the low side. On average, the keto plan provides 1,300 calories and 30 grams of net carbs daily. Unfortunately, while your daily calories may vary based on the meals you choose, you do not have the option to subscribe to different calorie meal plans.

Our tester shows a bite of a Diet-To-Go meal.

Diet-to-Go delivers within the 48 contiguous states for a shipping fee of $19.98 weekly. If you live close to their facilities, you’ll receive deliveries twice weekly in insulated boxes with cold packs. Those shipped farther away will be flash-frozen and delivered in special coolers once a week. Our tester, Garage Gym Reviews Everything lead reviewer Lindsay Scheele, CPT, CNC, had no trouble with delivery, rating the packaging and shipping at 5 out of 5.

Our tester, Lindsay, liked a lot of things about the service, particularly the customer service. “I loved the customer service; they answered my questions and helped me cancel my subscription within minutes,” says Lindsay.

Her biggest callout was the portion sizes, rating them a 3.5 out of 5. “I liked the price, I liked the variety of options, but the portions were inconsistent,” says Lindsay, “And some meals were just not good.”

If you’d rather stick with meal kits for your keto meals, try Green Chef, which uses organic ingredients and features a keto-friendly meal plan.

Hungryroot offers a unique take on meal delivery, in that you find a recipe you like, and the company will send you all of the ingredients to make it. There are many options for types of food to choose from, and you can even order extra groceries that you might need as well. You do have to cook though, so if that’s not interesting to you, this won’t be the right plan.

If you like to customize your meal kits, Hungryroot might be your MVP. But, to be clear, Hungryroot isn’t a traditional meal kit service—it’s a fun twist on your everyday grocery shopping. Hungryroot provides personalized grocery recommendations with accompanying recipes, saving you time and giving you the freedom to prepare your own meals, earning the meal delivery a 5 out of 5 on customizations.

Perry Nix, RD, says, “Hungryroot provides groceries and recipes for flavorful meals that can be made in just 10 minutes. Hungryroot is for those who don’t want a microwave-ready meal but also don’t have lots of time to spend prepping and cooking. Many of their ingredients, such as pasta sauce, are pre-made so you spend less time in the kitchen without sacrificing on texture and taste.”

Image of an entire Hungryroot Order In One Delivery
A display of items purchased from Hungryroot.

To start, you take a quick quiz stating your health goals, how many people you’re feeding, and any pertinent dietary preferences or needs. Then Hungryroot does the rest! They create a grocery plan and fill your cart with recipes and the necessary groceries. Talk about a grocery trip with one click! Plus, you can always change your order and adjust your recipes as needed.

Unfortunately, Hungryroot doesn’t have pre-determined keto-friendly meals, but plenty of options can fit into your keto lifestyle. Choose from premium proteins, fresh produce, healthy snacks, and delicious sweets to create many delicious keto meals. Hungryroot offers grain bowls, pasta, stir-fries, salads, and more.

Weekly plans start at $65 per delivery, which can be relatively comparable to today’s grocery bills. GGR’s senior director of content, Kate Meier, NASM-CPT, USAW-L1, CF-L1, put Hungryroot’s subscription to the test, ordering four lunch and dinner servings. For her plan, meals cost approximately $10 each, earning a 4 out of 5 for its cost.

Woman making chicken burrito bowls from Hungryroot
Our tester prepares chicken burrito bowls ordered from Hungryroot.

“Meals were between 440-600 ish calories, which is a really good size for me,” Kate says, rating the portion size at 4 out of 5. “If you add the snacks they send you on top of that, you could get more out of it. My partner, a competitive weightlifter, on the other hand, wants like 800+ calories per meal, so he would add rice or bread to each meal to get more. I will say that because it’s so customizable, you can make it be almost as big or as small as you want. Every recipe gives you two servings, so you could technically get eight or more meals each time.”

And, Hungryroot emphasizes sustainability through its delivery practices and role in reducing food waste. Sounds like a win-win-win to me!

Since Hungryroot doesn’t have strict keto recipes to choose from, you may want a meal kit service with some keto-friendly recipes to follow. If that’s the case, try Home Chef, which has keto and low-carb recipes within its rotating menu.

Green Chef is a top-notch meal delivery service, offering meals that fit various lifestyle preferences, including gluten-free, plant-based, calorie-smart, Mediterranean, protein-packed, and—drum roll—yep, you guessed it: Keto!

Setting up your subscription is simple. Choose your plan according to your lifestyle preferences and dietary needs. Then, peruse their list of 80+ weekly menu options and choose meals that speak to you. From there, it’s just a matter of time before your chef-curated meals are waiting for you on your doorstep.

Green Chef recipes come with pre-portioned ingredients (hello, organic produce!), meaning cooking your favorite meals will be a breeze. You can order 2-6 servings of 2-4 meals per week, averaging $11.99 to $13.49 per serving.

Nicole Davis, GGR’s director of content, CPT, and Precision Nutrition Level 1 Nutrition Coach, tried Green Chef, and rated the ease of preparation at 3 out of 5. “The meals take about 30 minutes to cook, which is the most I’d want to spend cooking during the week,” Nicole says. “They do require multiple pieces of equipment, but it lists what you need on the recipe card.”

Eating A Green Chef Meal 1
Our tester tries out a meal from Green Chef.

She goes on to say, “Overall, I liked the taste of these, but the portion size was just not great and thus the cost didn’t really make sense to me. I like that you can add on breakfast options or other add-ons (like cooked meats), and I like the actual recipe card versus having to use an app.” She rates the portion size at 3 out of 5.

When considering Green Chef, you may need to account for the quality of ingredients when weighing your options against your budget. For some, organic ingredients take priority. For others, budget wins.

While there is a minimum order amount of $75, there are no subscription models and you can order food whenever you like. The company is based in the Adirondack mountain region of New York and is committed to utilizing local produce and responsibility sourced proteins.

518 Kitchen brings meal delivery services to the next level by flash-freezing their meals before shipping. Frozen meals can be a real game-changer when chasing your wellness goals, though they sometimes sacrifice flavor for convenience—except when it comes to 518 Kitchen, which we rated a 4 out of 5 on taste.

“Overall, really good,” says competitive weightlifter and GGR Senior Director of Content Kate Meier. “I tried steak chili, chicken pesto, egg bites, a fajita bowl, short ribs, and a cauliflower meal. They taste like a good frozen meal.”

518 Kitchen offers keto-friendly frozen entrees made from whole foods. Every delivery adds to your stockpile of easily accessible, chef-curated meals that can be ready in minutes. Once delivered, there’s nothing to do but reheat and enjoy! A 5 out of 5 on ease of preparation.

The Good Kitchen is a meal delivery service, delivering prepared meals with quality ingredients. The meats used are grass-fed beef, pastured pork, and hormone-free poultry and eggs. With as many as 90 items to pick from each week, you’ll be able to choose a one-time purchase, or subscribe to weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly deliveries.

The Good Kitchen brings the farm to your table in just a few short minutes. Their rotating local menus feature seasonal foods and meals on par with the latest food trends, so you’ll always have something new to try. You can choose from a variety of dietary-specific meals, including Mediterranean, paleo, Whole30, keto-friendly, and vegan meals. With around 90 meals on their menu at any time, we give the variety a 5-out-of-5 score.

Chefs work alongside dietitians to prepare nutritionally balanced meals made with healthy fats, clean protein, and sustainably harvested produce. As a default, The Good Kitchen meals are always refined sugar-, gluten-, and dairy-free. Additionally, they use grass-fed beef, pastured pork, and antibiotic- and hormone-free poultry and eggs. Produce is organic when possible, GMO-free, and raised as close to The Good Kitchen as possible, earning the service a 4.5 out of 5 for ingredient quality.

Dietician Perry Nix notes, “Dairy, soy, and peanuts are among the most common food allergens. The Good Kitchen is one the few meal delivery services that offer plans designed for individuals who need to avoid these ingredients.”

The Good Kitchen keeps its keto meals under 15 grams of carbs by incorporating non-starchy veggies, healthy fats, and lean proteins. Examples of their keto-friendly meals include Creamy Mustard Chicken, Shredded Beef Ropas Viejas, and Lemon Garlic Chicken.

GGR staff writer Caine Wilkes tested The Good Kitchen. He appreciated the variety and the high-quality ingredients, but noted that the taste was hit or miss. “Consistently had some of the best seasoned meat for each meal, but also some of the blandest vegetable sides,” he said, rating the taste at 3.5 out of 5.

Meals can be delivered monthly, weekly, or even twice weekly to ensure freshness, and you can order as many as 12 meals with each delivery. The meals are never frozen, so it’s best to schedule deliveries accordingly. You wouldn’t want your meals to sit uneaten and spoil in the fridge! But, of course, you can pause or cancel your meals anytime.

If you’re needing more than 12 meals in a week, you can try 518 Kitchen, which delivers all their meals à la carte; you only have to reach a minimum order of $75.

Trifecta combines convenience with healthy eating. While all meals are pre-cooked and pre-portioned, the ingredients are high-quality and preservative-free. While you have a ton of options, keep in mind that this is a fairly expensive meal delivery service.

Meal delivery services are typically geared toward the busy adult, but Trifecta takes it a step further and caters to athletes. Choose from a wide selection of chef-curated meals designed with performance in mind. Each meal prioritizes premium proteins and organic ingredients to help you maximize your nutrition with every meal, earning the brand a 4 out of 5 for ingredient quality.

Not sure where to start? No problem—The Trifecta app can determine a plan to fit your schedule, giving you the precise daily amounts of macronutrients you need to hit to reach your goals. As a dietitian, I’m a big fan of meeting with qualified pros who can support you with personalized guidance, but having this rough estimate at your fingertips is pretty sweet.

Photo of Trifecta Meals out on a countertop
A display of the prepared meals our tester tried from Trifecta.

Meals come fully prepared and vacuum-sealed to stay fresh in the fridge for seven days or in the freezer for up to three months. And cooking your meals is super simple. Pop them in the microwave, air fryer, oven, or on the stovetop. The ease of preparation couldn’t be easier, so we rate it at 5 out of 5.

Perry Nix, RD, LD, sums up Trifecta’s meal service perfectly, stating, “Trifecta offers high-protein, macro-balanced meals, made for those looking to improve strength and build muscle. All meals are made with lean protein, complex carbs, and veggies. Complex carbs often used in their meals include wild rice and quinoa, both of which provide lasting energy.”

She goes on to say, “The meals are low-calorie, so you’ll likely want to add snacks between meals to meet your energy requirements for the day.”

Kate Meier, GGR head of content, agrees. “I felt like the meals were a little on the small side. I was always hungry afterward.” So, definitely plan to incorporate snacks as needed when ordering through this service.

Our tester eats a Broccoli Casserole made by Trifecta.

As far as taste goes, Kate rated it at 4 out of 5, thinking it was pretty good overall. “For reference, I eat pretty plainly, so I don’t need a crazy amount of flavor or spice,” adds Kate. “I do think these are great for quick, healthy options.”

Choose from at least 25 chef-curated meals, such as Chicken Bacon Primavera, Tomatillo Turkey Casserole, and Brisket and Cheesy Cauliflower. You can order 5, 7, 10, or 14 entrees at once. The keto meal plan runs $110.99 per week when ordering seven entrees. You can also add seven breakfast entrees for an additional cost.

There are no subscriptions, you can order at the frequency to like. Meals are reasonably priced at $7.99 and you can order in increments of six meals at a time. There is a $5 shipping charge for orders under $85.

There’s no doubt that meal delivery services are a luxury of the times. Well-balanced meals delivered to your doorstep? Yes, please! But they often come with a hefty price tag. Enter Clean Eatz Kitchen.

Clean Eatz Kitchen offers prepared, frozen keto meals at great value. Their low-carb, high-fat meal plan is designed to help you reach ketosis and achieve your weight loss goals efficiently. Each meal is rich in healthy fats, moderate in protein, and low in carbohydrates. Examples of meals include Keto Fajita Chicken, Keto Green Goddess Chicken, and Keto Meatlovers Pizza.

Meals run $8.99 each with a $5 shipping charge on orders under $85. Talk about affordable eating! We rate the pricing at a 5 out of 5. And since Clean Eatz Kitchen is not a subscription service, you don’t have to stress about pausing or canceling your deliveries if your budget ever changes.

Clean Eatz Meal
Our product tester with a meal from Clean Eatz Kitchen.

Of course, affordable value comes with some drawbacks. “When you order online, you only have the option to order six meals at a time, which could be more than some people are willing to order. Additionally, since the meals are made in bulk, you don’t have the choice to customize them, which could put off those with dietary restrictions,” says Perry Nix, RD, LD. We rate the customizations at 4 out of 5.

GGR’s product tester Chloe Ekberg tried some Clean Eatz meals and scored the taste at 5 out of 5. She adds, “Everything I ate was fresh and delicious. Since this is a franchise and I got food from the Raleigh location, the freshness and quality was unmatched compared to other food delivery services.” She even went on to say that she plans to order again!

Other Keto Meal Delivery Services We Researched

We tried to address every potential concern when creating our list of the 10 best keto meal delivery services, but no list is completely comprehensive. Here are six other meal delivery services that we researched:

  • Territory Foods: Territory Foods offers a keto-friendly meal plan that provides less than 15 grams of carbohydrates per meal. The variety of meals, while similar to The Good Kitchen’s selection, is lacking, in our opinion. Also, Territory Foods, unfortunately, only delivers to select cities.
  • HelloFresh: HelloFresh has earned a prominent reputation in the meal delivery industry. However, they do not focus on keto-friendly meals. For those following the keto diet, you will need to be diligent about reading the nutrition labels to ensure your meals will help you reach your goals.
Hello Fresh Meals And Cards
A display of HelloFresh meals and ingredients, along with recipe cards.
  • Ice Age Meals: Ice Age Culinary offers keto-friendly meals and prioritizes small-batch cooking with minimal ingredients. You can order boxes of 16, 30, or 60 meals.
  • Pete’s Real Food: Pete’s Real Food offers paleo and vegan entrees but not keto meals. You will need to be diligent about counting your macros if trying to reach a state of ketosis while eating these meals.
  • CookUnity: CookUnity offers ketogenic-friendly meals from various chefs across the country. Answer a few questions about your dietary preferences and choose meals that appeal to your taste buds. You can even filter recipes based on your geographic location.
  • ModifyHealth: ModifyHealth does not offer a keto meal plan, but they do provide a carb-conscious menu. Their ready-to-eat meals are designed by doctors and dietitians to support your health goals. ModifyHealth also gives customers the option to sign up for their FIT Quickstart program, which includes three virtual sessions with a registered dietitian to navigate their health and wellness goals.

How We Picked and Tested the Best Keto Meal Delivery Services

Finding the best keto meal delivery services was no joke. The market is saturated with companies that advertise keto-friendly diet plans, but we worked together to weed through them all and compile a list of our favorites. We look at things like portion size, ingredient quality, and taste, as well as packaging, customer service, and access to nutritional information, to ensure we’re giving you a well-rounded assessment of the service.

But why should you take our word for it? Well, our readers mean a lot to us, so we don’t take this lightly. Plus, we’ve got the credentials to back it up. We’re a team of registered dietitian nutritionists, certified personal trainers, certified nutrition coaches, and athletes, and we know how important it is to trust what we put into our bodies. When we make recommendations, we research the products or services from every angle to give you as much information as possible to make an informed decision.

Benefits of Keto Meal Delivery Services

Adjusting your budget and investing the time to design a meal plan can take some trial and error, but many people find it worth the trouble. For those following a ketogenic lifestyle, meal delivery services offer a wide range of benefits.

Meal Planning

Ever feel like your brain shuts down at the end of a long day? Me, too. The last thing I want to think about when I get home is what to make for dinner. Meal delivery services help you avoid decision fatigue by planning your meals ahead of time.

Convenience

In a world that seems to turn faster every day, many of us are looking for ways to make our day-to-day more efficient. Having your groceries or prepared meal delivery service arrive at your doorstep is about as efficient as it gets. Meal services provide a significant level of convenience to your grocery shopping and macro counting.

Sustainability

Food waste2 continues to contribute to pollution, presenting severe environmental concerns. Meal delivery services help you streamline your serving sizes and keep your food-to-waste ratios under control.

Buying Guide: What to Look for in Keto Meal Delivery Services

We all have unique dietary needs and food preferences shaped by our culture, physical demands, and medical history. So, your search for the best keto meal delivery service may yield different results from your BFF, training partner, or neighbor down the street. However, there are a few factors to consider that can help direct your search:

Meal Variety

Meal variety might be a deal breaker for some meal delivery services, especially when working with dietary restrictions like the keto diet. Look for a delivery service that offers a number of meal options you feel comfortable committing to for an extended period. With so many options on the market today, there’s no reason to suffer through meal burnout.

Factor Meals Stacked On Counter
Stacks of Factor Meals sitting on a countertop.

Portion Sizes

Portion sizes can be a deal breaker for some meal delivery services. When investing in a service, you want the most bang for your buck. And while that doesn’t necessarily mean getting the most food for your money, you want to feel satisfied with the serving sizes provided. Plus, you want to know that the portions you pay for will help you meet your health and wellness goals.

Price Per Serving

Speaking of deal breakers—the cost of your meal delivery service can be a yay or a nay. There’s no need to blow your budget out of the water when choosing a keto meal delivery service, especially since it’s possible to meet your dietary needs through traditional grocery shopping alone.

Before you sign up for a subscription, know how far your investment will take you. Will you need to add supplemental foods to meet your nutrition needs? Will you be satisfied with the quality of the ingredients for the price?

RELATED: Best Keto Protein Powder

Customer Service

Of course, you hope nothing goes wrong with your orders, but it’s always good to know that customer service has your back should anything go wonky. Before placing an order, consider researching how easy it is to get in touch with the company.

Sustainability Efforts

For some, meal delivery services are an opportunity to minimize food waste and help care for the environment. However, where meal kits reduce food waste, they can increase the use of plastics. Search for companies that are diligent about recycling and green manufacturing processes.
