joroto x2 indoor cycling bike review

If you’ve ever been one-half of a couple with a hilarious height difference, then you know the pain of shopping for fitness equipment that works for both of you. And as a 6-foot-3-inch man who’s dated women as short as 4 feet, 10 inches, I can speak to this problem quite extensively.

In this JOROTO X2 Indoor Cycling Bike review, we’ll take a look at an exercise bike that claims to work for people of multiple sizes. Its adjustability is a large part of its marketing on Amazon, but there are other features that make it an attractive option for home gym owners in compact spaces or those in apartments.

We Don’t Spin Bike Reviews Around Here — We Just Give You the Facts

Garage Gym Reviews has become a global leader in the fitness industry because Coop never minced his opinions, and neither do we. You’ll know whether we think something needs improvement and if we say something is great, then we truly mean it.

And as certified personal trainers, CrossFit Level 1 Trainers, and competitive weightlifters, we know our stuff. We’ve tested dozens, if not hundreds of the best exercise bikes to find options that work for people of different fitness goals, budgets, and space constraints.

Bottom Line

The JOROTO X2 is an indoor stationary bike that comes with adjustable handles and pedal straps, as well as an adjustable seat, and pedal straps. It also has a magnetic resistance flywheel for a quiet ride and a tablet holder so you can stream workouts.

A Quick Look at the JOROTO X2 Indoor Cycling Bike

The JOROTO X2 Indoor Cycling Bike has been called the “budget Peloton alternative” due to the many similarities between the two bikes: magnetic resistance, adjustable micro-adjustable tension, and a belt-drive system. These features are common in a bike at Peloton’s price range but rarely found in bikes similar to the JOROTO X2 exercise bike, which goes for around $400.

joroto x2 indoor cycling bike review bike

This budget-friendly bike also boasts four-way adjustable handlebars and a four-way adjustable seat to accommodate riders of all sizes. The maximum weight capacity is 300 pounds, which is the same as the much more expensive Peloton bike.

Before You Buy

  • For an additional $100, you can get the same bike but with an anti-skid tablet holder and Bluetooth connectivity (we did not test the Bluetooth model so we can’t speak to how it performs)

Is the JOROTO X2 Indoor Cycling Bike Worth It?

At around $400, the JOROTO X2 Indoor Cycling Bike has a bit to offer in terms of value, but as Garage Gym Reviews founder and exercise bike savant Cooper Mitchell points out, there are some durability issues with it. It does live up to the claim of being easily adjustable for people of all sizes, and the silent magnetic resistance and belt-drive system create a quiet experience that will never disturb any roommates.

Here’s who we think will enjoy the JOROTO X2 Indoor Cycling Bike and who should consider another piece of exercise equipment.

Great for:

  • People on a budget
  • Families or those who need to share cardio equipment
  • Anyone looking for a silent exercise bike

Not recommended for:

  • Those who want an exercise bike with a screen
  • Indoor cyclists looking for a durable exercise bike
  • People looking for a folding exercise bike

Getting Adjusted to the JOROTO X2 Indoor Cycling Bike

Coop, who stands at 5 feet, 9 inches, got to test the JOROTO X2 Indoor Cycling Bike, and I asked him if he thought it could work just as well for him as it could for someone like me, who’s 6 foot, 3 inches. His response: Yes.

“There are a lot of adjustments to dial in the bike to the size of the person,” he says. “The adjustments are also pretty easy to make due to the handles that provide a lot of torque.”

The handlebars and padded seat both have four-way adjustability, meaning they can be moved forward and backwards as well as up and down to provide as much leg room as the user needs.

joroto x2 indoor cycling bike review seat

People like me tend to run into problems with budget-friendly bikes because the inseam, or leg room, isn’t long enough to give us ample leg stretch, and nobody wants to be cramped while trying to pedal.

JOROTO says the bike has a minimum inseam of 27.5 inches and a maximum inseam of 36.2. If you’re unsure of what your inseam is, here’s a quick guide on how to figure it out:

  • Grab a friend
  • Stand with your back against a wall with your feet shoulder-width apart (make sure you have good posture)
  • Slide a book or some other object up the wall until it makes contact with your groin (this acts as the “saddle”)
  • Have your friend hold the book in place as you move away from the wall
  • Measure the distance from the top of the book to the ground—that’s your inseam

Resistance

Most bikes in the $400 price range don’t come with magnetic resistance, but the JOROTO X2 stationary bike does. The adjustable resistance can be set with a knob in the center of the bike frame, and while Coop says it’s challenging, it’s not as tough as friction resistance.

“Similar to the other magnetic bikes, it doesn’t have as much resistance as you’ll often find with friction-based bikes but enough for most,” he says.

joroto x2 indoor cycling bike review resistance

Friction-based resistance works by having a pad make contact with the flywheel, whereas magnetic resistance operates on magnets. Friction resistance is often cheaper than its magnetic counterpart, which is why it’s surprising to see that the JOROTO offers magnetic tension.

Coop doesn’t recommend turning the knob too hard due to durability issues. “The resistance knob is plastic and feels every bit of it,” he says. “Definitely not something that feels like it will last long or you’ll want to really crank on.”

Flywheel and Belt Drive

The JOROTO X2 Indoor Cycling Bike comes with a 35-pound bidirectional flywheel and a belt-drive system, which are good not only for a smooth ride but to reduce any noise. The other type of drive system is a chain drive, which is much noisier and requires routine maintenance.

joroto x2 indoor cycling bike flywheel

Coop says the bike is quiet but not any more silent than other models in this price range.

Stability

The JOROTO X2 is made with heavy-duty alloy steel, and weighs 94 pounds, but despite that Coop said he felt some wobble during his rides—nothing to be concerned about but it’s something to be aware of.

Display and Conveniences

The JOROTO X2 Indoor Cycling Bike comes with a basic LCD monitor that tracks the following metrics: time, speed, heart rate, distance, and calories burned. Right above the monitor are two large groove-holders that act as water bottle holders or a tablet stand, but Coop doesn’t recommend putting any precious technology on there during your ride.

joroto x2 indoor cycling bike review monitor

“The front mount will not be able to securely hold an iPad or tablet, which is popular with riders of these bikes,” he says.

The upgraded model comes with an anti-skid tablet holder that, according to customer reviews, is trustworthy. It also comes with Bluetooth connectivity that can connect to multiple cycling workout apps such as Zwift or the Peloton app.

Pedals

The JOROTO X2 Indoor Cycling Bike comes with adjustable toe-caged pedals and adjustable straps to fit multiple feet sizes and allow riders to use everyday athletic shoes, cycling shoes, or no shoes at all (no judgment here).

Footprint and Portability

Measuring 42.9 inches in length, 19.7 inches in width, and 42.5 inches in height, the JOROTO X2 won’t take up a ton of space in your home gym but it’s not foldable so it might not be the best pick for those in studio apartments.
The bike itself weighs 94 pounds and is quite easy to move due to the front-facing transport wheels.

JOROTO X2 Indoor Cycling Bike vs Pooboo Indoor Cycling Bike

Product Highlights

  • At-home stationary exercise bike
  • 1 year of free replacement of all parts
  • Heavy-duty steel bike frame
  • 35-lb flywheel
  • 300-lb weight capacity

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • LCD monitor tracks time, speed, and more
  • Adjustable handles and seat
  • Emergency resistance bar to stop the flywheel
  • Hand pulse handle for heart rate tracking
  • Integrated tablet holder

Cons

  • Some reports of it arriving damaged
  • Not for users under 4’ 9” or taller than 6’ 4”
  • Some reviews state it broke within a year

Bottom Line

The Pooboo D525DM is an indoor stationary bike with a 35-pound flywheel for a smooth and stable ride. It comes with an adjustable non-slip handle, as well as a four-way adjustable padded seat and adjustable pedals.

The JOROTO X2 Belt drive Indoor Cycling Bike and the Pooboo Indoor Cycling Bike are two budget-friendly bikes that feature magnetic resistance and a belt-drive system.

Between the two, Coop seemed more favorable toward the Pooboo because it felt more stable during his ride and costs about $100 less than the JOROTO.

Both lack any kind of tech features but have optional upgrades for a better digital monitor and Bluetooth if desired.

Financing options are available through Amazon at checkout.

You can return the bike within 90 days of receipt or get a replacement bike if desired.

Ordering and Assembling the JOROTO X2 Indoor Cycling Bike

Most customer reviews agree that assembling the JOROTO X2 Indoor Cycling Bike should take no longer than 20 minutes, though some caution that you should pay close attention to the parts list because there are few illustrations in the step-by-step directions.

You can add expert assembly to your order for an additional $90 at checkout.

Customer Reviews

As of this writing, the JOROTO X2 Stationary Exercise Bike has more than 5,800 reviews on Amazon with an average rating of 4.5. Usually I’d show you a 5-star review, however I don’t think you could survive without seeing this reviewer’s take on Amazon karaoke.

There are a number of negative reviews complaining about poor durability, and a number or reviewers have said the bike tends to break down after the one-year mark—and in some cases much sooner than that.

Final Verdict of Our JOROTO X2 Indoor Cycling Bike Review

Although it’s not our favorite budget-friendly exercise bike on Amazon, there are many reasons why one might consider the JOROTO X2 Indoor Cycling Bike for their home gym:

  • The handlebars and seat are widely adjustable and can accommodate people of all sizes
  • Padded, wide seat
  • Costs around $400
  • Magnetic resistance system and belt drive
  • Easy to assemble

We do have some concerns with the bike, which include:

  • Some wobbling during use
  • No tech features
  • No dedicated tablet holder or water bottle holder
  • Durability concerns

JOROTO X2 Indoor Cycling Bike FAQs

Does JOROTO X2 have Bluetooth?

The standard JOROTO X2 Indoor Cycling Bike does not have Bluetooth but the JOROTO X2Pro, which is about $100 more expensive than the X2, does and is compatible with multiple cycling apps. The Pro version also comes with an anti-skid tablet holder, which the JOROTO X2 does not.

Which exercise bike is best for seniors?

Our top pick for the best exercise bike for seniors is the Exerpeutic 400XL Folding Recumbent Bike because it’s sturdy, comfortable, and has a recumbent design that’s easy on the joints and makes getting on and off the bike simple.

The Schwinn 270 Recumbent Bike is another great choice for those who are not on a tight budget.
