For this BPN Endopump review, we grabbed our guy Jacob Penner, USAW-L2, who is the owner of a weightlifting club in North Carolina, a competitive weightlifter, a former state track champion, and a personal trainer to give it a try. The best stim-free pre-workout may help you have more effective workouts, but it really depends on what you want from them.

Though BPN does offer a pre-workout that contains caffeine, called Lift, we wanted to see how their stim-free formulation compared and we were so excited to see more of BPN due to the company’s values as well as their commitment to offering third-party tested supplements. Keep reading to find out what Jacob thought of the Endo Pump enhancer.

A Quick Look at BPN Endopump

While studying nutrition and preparing to join the Army after graduation, Nick Bare, the current owner, began Bare Performance Nutrition in his dorm room. Thus, BPN Supplements is a veteran-owned/operated business that covers several fitness goals.

This includes their Nutter Bar Blast whey protein powder for recovery, Strong Greens for overall wellness, and sour watermelon electrolytes for hydration. BPN supplements are also third-party tested, giving them a huge thumbs up for elite athletes.

Before You Buy

  • If you’re a veteran or first responder, buy from the official website! Entering your identification can get you a discount.
  • For optimal results, BPN recommends taking Endopump Pump Enhancer along with their pre-workout supplement, Flight, which contains 300 mg of caffeine and a more impressive pre-workout formulation overall.

Is BPN Endopump Worth It?

If you’re accustomed to a pre-workout supplement that gives you skin-ripping pumps and a massive boost in energy, then this may leave you disappointed as the formulation is really quite minimal.

RELATED: Pre-Workout vs Energy Drink

A woman is shown drinking from a shaker cup.

It does a great job of including compounds to boost nitric oxide production to make up for the lack of stimulants, but you could probably find something with more oomph for a similar price.

Great for:

  • Beginners who are warming up to taking a daily pre-workout
  • Those who get jittery from caffeine
  • People who want to get a pump without consuming dozens of ingredients

Not recommended for:

  • Advanced weightlifters conditioned to only “feel something” with the strongest pre-workouts
  • People who avoid artificial sweeteners
  • Those who want a one-stop-shop kind of pre-workout formula

Experience Using BPN Endopump

For this supplement review, we give a big thanks to Jacob Penner, USAW-L2, athlete, competitive weightlifter, and personal trainer who tried BPN Endo Pump. While the pre-workout performance wasn’t outstanding for Jacob, he had a generally positive experience, especially noting the taste and the pump.

Price Per Serving

We rated 4 out of 5 in price. The supplement costs $34.19 for 30 servings, which comes out to $1.14 a serving. This actually isn’t too bad, but some on the market have way more active, natural ingredients for a similar price, so we had to knock off a point.

Formulation

We gave it a rating of 3 out of 5 for formulation. Though it has some good stuff going for it, there are also some missed opportunities. Let’s start with the most active ingredients:

  • L-citrulline (3 g): This amino acid increases nitric oxide production, which boosts blood flow to the muscles and provides that coveted pump. Studies show that these effects are achieved with the efficacious dose of 3-5 grams of l-citrulline daily1
  • Betaine Nitrate, as NO3-T (1.5 g): Study results have shown betaine supplementation for 15 days could improve muscular endurance2. Though betaine is normally present with anhydrous, here is it present with nitrate. Nitrate is known to help improve blood flow during exercise3.
  • Hydrolyzed Casein Tripeptides, as VasoDrive-AP (260 mg): This is an interesting compound of what’s essentially broken down casein in a powder form. Though these compounds have traditionally been used to help lower blood pressure4 in those with heart disease, there’s no evidence to show they provide more effective workouts.

This pre from Bare Performance Nutrition also contains: Natural and Artificial Flavor, Silica, Citric Acid, Malic Acid, Sucralose. As you can see, these aren’t entirely natural ingredients, which could turn some folks off. As far as the silica, this is sometimes added to prevent powder from clumping due to moisture during transport or storage.

A man is shown drinking a Pre-Workout in a gym.

There is also 554% of your daily value of vitamin C, but this was likely included due to an outdated myth that active individuals need more vitamin C than the general population. However, in a meta-analysis of 14 articles reviewed5, 11 showed either no effect or a negative effect on muscle damage and exercise performance following high-dose vitamin C supplementation.

There’s also no creatine monohydrate or amino acids, which some might be missing from their pre-workout.

Taste and Solubility

We gave it a rating of 5 out of 5 for both taste and solubility. Jacob tried the blue raspberry flavor and remarks that the pre-workout supplement has a really good taste while not being too sweet or too sour. He also comments that there were no problems with dissolving the powder after mixing it in water.

Side Effects

For side effects, we gave it a score of 4 out of 5. Even though the pre-workout doesn’t have any stimulants, Jacob still remarks that he got an energy boost and benefited from stronger muscle stamina during his training sessions, even remarking he could breathe more easily.

He also notes that he got a good muscle pump, but it was pretty on par with other pre-workouts he’s tried in the past, so he thinks beginners to pre-workout would notice the biggest difference. Finally, since there’s no beta-alanine, Jacob appreciated that he wasn’t itching.

Third-Party Testing

Endopump receives a 5 out of 5 from us in the category third-party testing for being tested by Informed Sport. The biggest difference between Informed Sport and Informed Choice is the frequency and thoroughness of their testing and the Informed Sport certification is more robust.

BPN Endopump vs Transparent Labs Stim-Free Pre-Workout

Transparent Labs Stim-Free Pre-Workout

Transparent Labs Stim Booster

GGR Score: 4.08 starstarstarstarstar

Product Highlights

  • Pre-workout
  • 100 mg caffeine per serving
  • Gluten-free and non-GMO
  • Informed Choice tested

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Inexpensive per serving
  • No artificial coloring or ingredients
  • Subscribe and save options

Cons

  • May not be enough caffeine for some folks
  • One flavor option

Bottom Line

Transparent Labs Stim Booster is pre-workout featuring 100 milligrams of caffeine, which may sound like not enough to some people, but for others it will be just right. There are no artificial ingredients and it’s Informed CHoice tested. It’s also priced under $1 per serving.

Here we have another pre-workout that left out the stimulants in the form of Transparent Labs’ Stim-Free Pre, which we’ve reviewed before. So, let’s compare. Transparent Labs is pricier than BPN, but it does include more of the typical pre-workout ingredients that experience lifters have come to expect, including electrolytes.

It’s also naturally sweetened whereas BPN contains artificial sweeteners. However, neither have caffeine (duh) or creatine monohydrate. Transparent Labs does contain more l-citrulline, but it also contains beta-alanine, which could be a positive or negative depending on how you feel about getting the tingles.

Customer Experience

We gave Endopump a 4-out-of-5-star rating in this category. We didn’t give it a perfect score because we aren’t big fans of the fact that, even though you can technically return your product within 30 days of receipt, you can only request to return or exchange your supplement.

Furthermore, when you order from BPN’s official website, you cannot return your pre-workout if it’s been opened for anything other than store credit.

Ordering BPN Endopump

When ordering through Amazon, it follows the typical flow of checkout. Just know that Amazon does not accept returns for dietary supplements like protein powder or pre-workout. When ordering BPN EndoPump Muscle Pump Enhancer through the BPN official website, you can save 15% by enrolling in subscribe and save which delivers every 30, 45, or 60 days.

Due to the company being veteran-owned, they do offer an extra 15% discount for military, law enforcement, firefighters, and EMT/EMS in the U.S. and Canada. When ordering in the U.S. and Canada, the standard shipping (2-5 business days) cost is $7.83 flat.

Customer Reviews

Endopump has an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 for customer reviews based on the endopump reviews we saw. On Amazon, Endo Pump has 4.4 out of 5 stars out of 610 Endopump reviews. Most positive reviews love the value, energy and pump the supplement gives, but more critical reviews say it does nothing.

On BPN’s official website, the Endo Pump supplement is rated 4.8 out of 5 stars based on 1,831 Endopump reviews. Most reviews rave about the effectiveness of the pump enhancer and how good it tastes.

Final Verdict of Our BPN Endopump Review

Jacob adds a final note that he loves the lack of artificial coloring, as the product is clear despite being blue raspberry flavored. He said he would use it again during heavier training sessions. That said, for people who have been taking pre-workout a long time and undergo very intense and extended training, it may not pack enough of a punch for the price.

  • Caffeine-free, but reviews indicate the pump is real
  • Try Flight from BPN if you’re a more advanced athlete
