Described in some reviews as the “best protein bars of all time,” with a taste and texture that are “unmatched,” the Barebell Protein Bars made their debut in Sweden in 2016, then later in the United States in 2020. Formulated as a healthy alternative to snacks and desserts, these candy bar–like protein bars have become increasingly popular. There are both plant-based and milk-protein blend flavors to accommodate a wider range of people.
Although the nutritional count varies by flavor, Barebells Protein Bars’ nutritional makeup is are on par with most well-known protein bars on the market, containing around 8 to 10 grams of fat, 19 to 27 grams of total carbohydrates, 6 to 7 grams of fiber, 1 gram of sugar, 6 grams of sugar alcohols, and 15 to 20 grams of protein. While there are no added sugars, Barebells Protein Bars do contain sugar alcohols in the form of sucralose and maltitol, which are known to cause stomach issues when consumed in excess. These bars receive incredibly positive reviews as they stand out from other protein bars by delivering a good tasting protein bar with a real candy bar–like texture.
