Adidas Leistung Weightlifting Shoes Review
April 25, 2020
Great weightlifting shoe
I switched to this show from a shoe with a lower effective heel height due to poor ankle mobility. I immediately found this shoe to be extremely supportive and stable. The BOA lacing system allows for a more uniform, snug fit, but I almost would prefer a dual-strap system in addition or in place of the BOA system to allow for a more customized fit on the foot. But, like I said, I switched due to the effective heel height and positive reviews I read prior to purchase. I have not been disappointed. I don’t ever anticipate switching to a different shoe.
An upgraded design of the Olympic weightlifting shoe used at the Rio Games, the Leistung 16.II by Adidas is equipped with a lockdown BOA closure system, steel laces, a rearfoot cradle, and a TPU midsole for next-level stability on the heaviest lifts. The 38mm heel height is optimized for Olympic snatch and clean and jerk movements, and a synthetic "Powerweave" upper offers unique comfort and breathability.
The German word "Leistung" literally translates to "Performance," and the Leistung 16.II is specifically engineered with the high-performance weightlifter in mind. Foundational strength + comfort + explosiveness.
