The Hylete Verge III short is the updated version of Hylete’s popular versatile men’s shorts. Hylete began in 2012 with one product, men’s shorts, and they have grown from there. The Verge III has been updated based on customer feedback, making the leg opening slimmer than on previous iterations.
The Verge III is made of a flex-woven fabric with flex-knit panels, which Hylete claims adds stretch and mobility. The Verge III has a patented waistband system that can stretch up to four inches so you have a perfect fit.
The shorts now come with four pockets rather than two: The two zippered hip pockets and two open hand pockets are a new addition to the Verge III. The shorts also have a two-way drawstring system which can be tied outside of the shorts and then kept inside the shorts for a clean look.
The Verge III is available in four different lengths: quad-cut, above-knee, regular, and long, listed from shortest to longest. The Verge III shorts are unlined; however, the black colorway is available with a lining.
The Verge III shorts have mostly positive reviews and many people returned to purchase multiple pairs. Reviewers noted that the fabric on the Verge III is less noisy and stiff than the fabric on the Verge II. Users also love the addition of the two hand pockets and think the position of the zippered hip pockets is improved. They also love how the shorts fit around the waist. Many users wore these shorts for work, leisure, and workouts.
Negative reviewers were frustrated with the sizing. There were mixed reviews on the sizing, with some reviewers sharing they were too small and tight and others thinking they ran large. A couple reviewers wish there were more color options and that the lined option was available in a color other than black.
