Product Summary

Nutrisystem is designed for those who want a low-effort approach to weight loss. Instead of working with a coach and putting together your own nutrition plan, you’ll get a box full of pre-made food that just needs to be heated up when you’re ready to eat it. Nutrisystem is similar to a meal delivery service, but with a specific focus on weight loss.

All meals are pre-portioned and have a balance of protein, fats, and carbohydrates that’s determined by a clinical advisory board. There are six plans to choose from: women’s, men’s, diabetes, Complete 55 (55 and older), couples, and Quick 9 (a short-term rapid weight loss plan). Each plan is designed based on your age, nutritional needs, and metabolism, and the plan will adjust as you lose weight and your calorie needs change. The standard program provides 1,200 to 1,500 calories per day.

When you sign up for the program, you’ll get access to an app where you can opt for a Chef’s Choice menu (NutriSystem will pick your meals for you), or curate your own plan from the available options. You’ll get breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks with each plan. You can sign up for a recurring monthly membership, or order a one-time shipment.

    Summary

NutriSystem is a good option for those looking for convenience, but there’s not a lot of emphasis on learning about nutrition or your habits. Once you’re off the plan, it can be difficult to continue your progress when you have to cook for yourself.
