What we like ...
- Rogue Fitness has taken their crowd favorite Curl Bar, extended the shaft and made it compatible with squat racks and aptly calling it the Rogue Rackable Curl Bar.
- At 110,000 PSI Tensile Strength, although the Rackable Curl Bar seems weak compared to something like the 200,000 PSI Tensile Strength Rogue Ohio Power Bar, it's actually one of the strongest curl bars on the market.
- Rogue's decided to use their medium-fine knurl that is the same that's used on the multipurpose flagship Rogue Ohio Bar. It's fine enough to prevent ripped callouses, but provides enough grip for any movement from curls to rows.
- The sleeves are coated in bright zinc and the shaft has an e-coat that will prevent rust from forming on its surface over time. It's not as good as stainless steel in this regard, but it is superior to the black oxide and zinc that's often used on curl bars.
- With over 51" shaft length between the sleeve collars it will fit on pretty much every rack including Rogue Racks that have a 49" outside width.
- Bronze bushings are used as the rotation system which have proven to be very reliable and long-lasting.
- The bends on this curl bar are similar to just about every other EZ Curl bar making it comfortable on the wrists during curls and tricep work.
- Made in the USA of US-Sourced Steel.
- Knurling is featured throughout the sections where the hands grip the bar which isn't always typical.
What needs improvement ...
- At $250, it's nearly $100 more than the REP Fitness Chrome Rackable Curl Bar. REP's bar is imported and chrome plated, but it does have a good knurl pattern. The Stainless Steel version of REP's is also available for a similar price point as Rogues.
- Many people hate the idea of curing in a squat rack. I am not one of them. - Coop
Product Summary
The Rogue Rackable Curl Bar features the same cambered design, knurl pattern, and E-coat finish as our original Rogue Curl Bar, but with 20 inches of additional space between the sleeves (51.8125” vs 31.5”)—making it rackable in most standard power racks.
With a racked curl bar, plate loading becomes much easier, and athletes can begin their curl movements directly from the starting height rather than having to pick the bar up off the ground. Close-grip bench movements can also prove more comfortable with this type of specialty camber bar, and “skull crushers” (lying triceps extensions) are made safer and more achievable, as users can now have the Curl Bar set up in the J-cups or on Spotter Arms
Each of our Rackable Curl Bars is machined and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, and include precision-bent steel with a snap ring design and bronze bushings. The sleeves have 10.5” of loadable length and a Bright Zinc finish, while the 110,000 PSI shaft features a corrosion-resistant E-Coat finish (in black) and our trademark Ohio knurling.

Summary
The Rogue Rackable Curl Bar is Rogue Fitness' premiere curl bar. It fits in a squat rack, has excellent knurling, is made in the USA, and is made to the level of all of Rogue's equipment. With all of this said, at $250 not including shipping, it is definitely pricey. If you want a high-quality curl bar that can be used in the rack, this is a great option, but, to be honest, we would suggest most people look elsewhere at lower-priced bars. A curl bar is not used nearly as much as an Olympic Barbell and as such, doesn't need the same level of quality. Yet, we don't blame you if you just like nice stuff.
